| 3 |  From receiving to giving back. 💚🧡
For Insyirah and Christopher, Yong-en started as a place where they received support. Today, they’re giving back to the same community that helped them grow.
From finding a place to belong at Kukoh+ to receiving academic support from Yong-en's weekly tuition, and the Yong-en Bursary Award, both have grown from programme participants into active youth volunteers - supporting tuition sessions, outings and community events.
Their journeys show what’s possible when young people are given the support and opportunities to grow.

| 5 |  🧡💚 Yong-en Turns 30! | 30 Years of Stories 💚🧡
Wen Jian first came to Yong-en as a student, attending our tuition programme while growing up. Years later, after graduating from NUS and starting his career at UOB, he found his way back to Yong-en — this time as a volunteer tutor.
Having once received support, he now gives his time to encourage and guide children in the same community. For us, this is what growth looks like: support that stays with you, and kindness that finds its way back to the next generation.
Wen Jian’s story is one of many that have shaped Yong-en’s 30-year journey.

Co-organised with Mindfull Comunity, this programme is designed for caregivers of persons living with dementia. Are you feeling overwhelmed or stress? We are here to navigate through the challenges with you.

Our seniors will be enjoying a makeover session, followed by a simple photo shoot with a backdrop so they can bring home a beautiful portrait to remember the day. ❤️

| 20 | 🌟 Volunteers Needed – Chinatown Walking Tour with Seniors 🌟
Spend a meaningful morning journeying alongside seniors living with dementia as we take a leisurely walk through the heart of Chinatown, exploring familiar sights, stories, and memories from the neighbourhood.
Date: 9 June 2026 (Tuesday)
Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm (Report at 9:30am)
Reporting Venue: Yong-en Dementia Day Care - 335A Smith Street #03-57 Singapore 051335
Volunteer Role:
- Befriend and accompany seniors during the walking tour
- Engage seniors in simple conversations and reminiscence
- Provide encouragement and support during the walk
- Assist staff in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of seniors
A short briefing will be provided before the activity.
Come make a difference through your presence, patience, and companionship. Sometimes, a simple walk and conversation can brighten someone's day 😊
