the FIDE World Rapid & Blitz just went down in NYC, this game was from the blitz portion where players have 3 min + 2 seconds per move on their clocks ♟️ a little background, Vasyl Ivanchuk is a bonafide living legend. a top 3 player in the world during his prime and a passionate ambassador for the game. but he’s aging, and with that comes a genuine frustration that surfaces here. at ~9:40 Ivanchuk has a winning position vs Naroditsky but can’t convert the win & he loses on time. it’s something we’re all going to have to confront, huge salute to Vasyl 🫡
