We show solidarity with people in prison, because we are convinced that prison and punishment do not contribute to a more just and non-violent society. We want a society in which social problems are dealt with instead of being locked away. People must not be criminalized because they are poor, queer or non-white. The film tells the remarkable story of an anarchist collective from Wrocław called Hulajpole, who in 2019 occupied an abandoned villa that was slated for demolition. From a neglected building, they created an autonomous space – the Piotr Kropotkin Social House. Built on the testimonies of collective members and archival footage, the film explores themes of justice, state power, capitalism, and housing policy in Poland. What is it like to live differently – in a supportive, non-hierarchical environment based on mutual aid, solidarity, and freedom? Like in Hulajpole.

Enough waiting. A comic about the Western Sahara conflict. ✊🏽24.3., 17h @malobeo Reading and a conversation with the author and a person from Sahrawi diaspora. We wait. We wait for tea. We are in one of the five self-governing refugee camps in Tindouf, Algeria. Around 200,000 Sahrawis have been living here since they were forced to flee Moroccan occupation 50 years ago. With the comic “Genug gewartet,” Fine (author and illustrator) takes you on a journey to the refugee camps and sheds light on the historical and political background of Africa’s last colony. The reading is an invitation: – to enjoy three Sahrawi teas, – to learn together about the struggle for independence that has lasted more than 50 years – and to engage in conversation with a person from the Sahrawi diaspora afterwards. Wir warten auf den Tee. Wir sind in einem der 5 selbstverwalteten Flüchtlingslager in Tindouf, Algerien. Hier leben etwa 200.000 Saharauis, seit sie vor 50 Jahren vor der marokkanischen Besatzung fliehen mussten. Mit dem Comic nimmt Fine (Autor*in und Zeichner*in) euch mit auf die Reise in die Flüchtlingslager & beleuchtet die geschichtlichen und politischen Hintergründe der letzten Kolonie Afrikas. Die Lesung ist eine Einladung: - auf drei saharauische Tees, zusammen mehr den über 50 Jahre währenden Kampf um die Unabhängigkeit zu erfahren – und im Anschluss mit einer Person aus der saharauischen Diaspora ins Gespräch zu kommen. Die Lesung findet auf Deutsch statt. Eine Flüsterübersetzung ins Englische wird angeboten. Die anschließende Diskussion kann sowohl auf Deutsch als auf Englisch geführt werden. In English.
