Currently, ChatGPT has filters that block NSFW requests, including erotica, extreme gore, slurs, and unsolicited profanity. But OpenAI is considering lifting the ban for older, more mature user groups. In a document released on their website, OpenAI revealed that the company is exploring how to "responsibly" allow AI-generated explicit content involving "s*xuality or n*dity" in its products in an "age-appropriate context". OpenAI's efforts to responsibly generate this type of content involve implementing measures such as internal testing, content guardrails, and the use of protocols like the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) standard. The company stated: "We're exploring whether we can responsibly provide the ability to generate NSFW content in age-appropriate contexts through the API and ChatGPT. We look forward to better understanding user and societal expectations of model behavior in this area."
