Protests in Northern Kurdistan & Turkey are spreading Since yesterday afternoon, protests against the AKP's attempts to sabotage the democratic decisions of the population have been spreading. After the protests sparked in Wan, protests are now also being reported in Siirt, Elih, Gever, Colemerg, Hatay, Riha, Sirnex, Qoser, Adana and Mersin. In many cities, barricades were erected and fires were lit in the streets. Previously, politicians from almost all parties had condemned the AKP's attempt to usurp the election despite the clear result. Structures of the Kurdish freedom movement also condemned the events and called for protests. The YCWK (Union of Patriotic Youth of Kurdistan) called for further expansion of the uprising. In some cities, the state is now trying to regain the upper hand. In addition to the police, the gendarmerie is active in some areas; in Colemerg, AKP members are said to have fired at protesters with assault rifles.

Repression and celebration after elections in northern Kurdistan Following today's local elections in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan, there is currently repression against the victory celebrations of the left-wing DEM party in the Kurdish regions. The European umbrella organization of the Kurdish movement called out with the words "We condemn the Belgian government and the Belgian police for giving free rein to the fascist gangs of the Turkish state [...]." for a central protest in front of the EU Parliament and for solidarity demonstrations. The attack is a calculated action that should not be viewed independently of the attacks in Kurdistan or Turkey. Clashes after fascist attack in Belgium In the last few hours there have been several attempted attacks on a Kurdish person in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium. Turkish fascists tried to set fire to a house where dozens of people were staying. Among other things, the symbol of the fascist gray wolves was shown. As the mob continued, it attacked individuals they believed to be Kurds and destroyed cars. In response, Kurdish youth rallied to confront the lynch mob. The young people gathered in large numbers in front of the house of one of the perpetrators, who proudly shared videos of the attack from Instagram, and attacked cars belonging to Turkish fascists. The situation is still tense, the Belgian state issued a public warning to avoid the area and is bringing in many police officers. Preparations for war at meeting between Turkey and Iraq Following a high-level security meeting between the Iraqi Foreign Minister and the Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and the head of MIT İbrahim Kalın, the Iraqi government decided to strengthen cooperation with Turkey and to ban the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). Turkey commits war crimes on an almost daily basis in its fight against the guerrilla forces of the Kurdish freedom movement and de facto occupies part of Iraqi territory through a network of military bases. However, no successes have been achieved in recent years. The Kurdistan Community of Communities (KCK) has been appealing to the Iraqi government for weeks not to escalate the existing war any further, but to work towards a democratic solution. A further escalation must be feared both in the self-administered areas in north/east Syria and in the free mountains of Kurdistan.

Members of the Young Women's Movement killed - Fierce fighting in South Kurdistan Today it was announced that the young female guerrilla fighters Bişeng Brûsk and Sara Hogir Riha were killed in a Turkish airstrike on July 28. Both were members of the Coordination of the Young Women's Association (Komalên Jinên Ciwan) and participated in the Kurdish Young Women's Movement in all parts of Kurdistan. The Youth Committee of the PKK, to which Bişeng Brûsk herself belonged, declared about their work: "Both of them have made a valuable contribution and great efforts for the development of Democratic Youth Confederalism and World Women's Confederalism".
