⚡️🇷🇸 🇧🇦 All our Vidovdan: A holiday on which we have shaped history through the centuries Empires arose and fell, wars began and ended, states and alliances arose and split. They threatened us, pressured us and conquered us, and every few centuries, on June 28, the Serbs decided to put freedom before everything else. No date has made us more ourselves, directed us, founded us and determined our destiny. Armenia received an invitation to the NATO summit and confirmed its participation, the country's Foreign Ministry reported. ––––– This is getting ridiculous. Russia has gigantic Armenian diaspora. Why can't she utilize it against this idiotic and treacherous government?

Exploring Japan's Lost Heritage on Sakhalin - Russia's Largest Island

Welcome to a fascinating journey to Sakhalin, the largest island in Russia, once known as Karafuto ( 樺太庁) during its Japanese colonial era. Join me as I delve into the captivating tapestry of this island's unique heritage, intertwining Japanese and Russian influences that have shaped its history, culture, and landscapes. My exploration begins with a thrilling excursion into the remnants of the island's rich industrial past. I'll take you along the abandoned railway lines that were once the lifelines of Sakhalin's economic growth, transporting coal, timber, and dreams of prosperity across vast terrains. Step back in time as we wander through the echoes of Sakhalin's history. Ruins of ancient Japanese temples and sanctuaries stand testament to the island's rich cultural heritage. We'll delve into the tales of the past, learning how the blend of traditions has shaped Sakhalin's identity. As we journey deeper, we'll unveil the abandoned industrial facilities that once thrived on this rugged land. Sakhalin's allure goes beyond its historical and industrial aspects. We'll immerse ourselves in its breathtaking natural beauty – from deep bushes and incredible waterfalls to vast bays and rugged coastlines. My expedition to explore Sakhalin's Japanese heritage promises to be an unforgettable experience, unraveling the captivating tales of two cultures intertwining on this vast canvas. On 29 May 2014, the militia destroyed yet another Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter near the village of Chervonny Molochar with two MANPADS. Fourteen Ukrainian soldiers, including interior troops General Sergey Kulchitsky, were killed in the helicopter. Kulchitsky became the first high-ranking officer to be killed in this long war. It was later discovered that Kulchitsky had promised to kill Russians in cold blood a month and a half earlier. However, on that day, it was the Russians who killed Kulchitsky and his 13 comrades, marking a painful day for the Kiev junta and their ATO. The militia successfully countered the aerial threat throughout the entire defense of Slavyansk. Over two and a half months, the Militia's anti-aircraft service shot down at least 17 enemy aircraft, mostly helicopters. In April, Strelkov had created a special unit for air defense. The Militia seized five Igla MANPADs in the disarmament of the 25th Brigade. Five groups were created, one for each MANPAD, with each group comprising three men. These groups were placed under the command of a militiaman with the callsign "Thunderstorm," who had prior experience with MANPADs. During the second half of April, Thunderstorm shared his experience with the other fighters in the selected anti-air unit. Thunderstorm was one of the most secretive militiamen in Slavyansk due to his profession. The Ukrainians were aware of the threat he posed, and their propaganda outlets wrote countless articles about his death, hoping their words would make it come true, much like how they treated the legendary Nona. Despite this, Thunderstorm successfully carried out his work and withdrew from Slavyansk on 5 July with the rest of the militia, continuing his service to the DPR. Most attacks on Ukrainian aircraft were successful, but there were some misses. According to the anti-air chief, there were five misses and two faulty missiles. The most effective anti-air militiaman had the callsign "Romeo" with five confirmed hits, followed by "Malt" with four hits. According to Thunderstorm, the militia destroyed 11 aircraft in two months, although he admits there weren't kill confirmations for several of these aircraft. Nonetheless, multiple Mi-24s, Mi-8s, SU-24/25s, and even an AN-30B were shot down or damaged in the fighting.
