Moving from sunny Vietnam to snowy Russia? It’s a challenge… but a beautiful one.
Hi, I’m Ngoc. Currently learning Russian at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. In this honest vlog, I talk about: 🔹Why the educational program here is exactly what I hoped for. 🔹The language barrier: hilarious moments when you say the wrong word. 🔹How I made friends from all over the world (you’re never alone here). 🔹My daily struggle and success with scheduling my studies. The best part? The professors at Polytechnic University are so responsive and caring. The hardest part? The cold! But I have a big goal: to enter the Master’s program in Law here.If you need motivation to keep learning Russian – this video is for you. Spoiler: It’s worth it. Watch the video

On this day, we remember those who fought on the fronts, who worked in the rear, and those who survived the horrors of war. More than three thousand of our polytechnics stood up for the country and the world, showing incredible bravery and dedication.

Compassion, empathy, and family — these are the words that capture the essence of the film “You Are Not an Orphan"
On the eve of Victory Day, the screening brought together Polytech students and guests from the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in St. Petersburg.
“This film is based on a real human story of courage: during the war, an Uzbek family took in and raised more than a dozen children of different nationalities who had been evacuated to Tashkent. It is not just a film about war — it is a film about humanity. About the ability to remain human in the most difficult times. About how compassion, warmth, and responsibility know no borders or nationalities,” — noted rector of the Polytechnic University Andrey Rudskoy.👉 The film tells the story of the Shamakmurodov family from Tashkent, who adopted 14 orphaned children during World War II. Based on real events, it has become a powerful tribute to humanism and is considered one of the most moving war dramas. For Polytech, this story carries special meaning. During the war, staff of the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute were evacuated to Uzbekistan, where they continued their work. Today, the republic remains one of SPbPU’s key partners in science, education, and youth initiatives.

🇲🇦 Continued. RAFU Days in Morocco
At Hassan II University, the Russian delegation met with the leadership to discuss joint programs (Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, academic mobility). Then followed presentations of Master’s programs for Moroccan students. The interest is huge — many questions from future applicants.
🇷🇺 The open Russian language lesson at the Polytech-Global Center was attended by Dmitry Mezhaurov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Casablanca. He noted: preparatory departments in Russia provide full language immersion, while Russian language centers in Morocco are in demand for mixed families and those who have already decided to study in Russia.
SPbPU and RUDN will provide comprehensive methodological support to the Polytech-Global Center to help talented Moroccans enter Russian universities.
🇷🇺🇲🇦 Cooperation continues!

He started a chain reaction ⚗
Today marks the 130th anniversary of the birth of Nikolai Nikolaevich Semyonov, an outstanding physicist, chemist, and professor at the Polytechnic Institute, the first Nobel Prize winner in chemistry in the USSR — awarded in 1956 (jointly with Cyril Hinshelwood) "for his research into the mechanism of chemical reactions."
📚 At just 24 years old, Nikolai Nikolaevich became a lecturer at the Petrograd Polytechnic Institute. And as a 30-year-old associate professor, he founded his own school, which colleagues aptly nicknamed the "Semyonov Regiment."
🧪 Nikolai Nikolaevich made fundamental contributions to the establishment of chemical physics: he developed the theory of chain and branched reactions (using the oxidation of phosphorus vapor as an example), the theory of thermal explosions and combustion of gas mixtures, and together with Pyotr Kapitsa, he devised a method for measuring the magnetic moment of the atom.

Dear friends! Happy Space Day!
This year we are marking an important date – the 65th anniversary of the first human flight into space. The feat of Yuri Gagarin forever changed the course of history and opened the way for humanity to new horizons.
Back then, Polytech made its contribution to the preparation of this historic event, and today our scientists and engineers continue to create breakthrough technologies for space.
More details about the space developments of our university can be found in a large article by Rossiyskaya Gazeta, published on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's flight.
Congratulate everyone involved in the space industry! I wish you bright victories, breakthroughs, and good luck!
