The picture illustrates the life cycle of a frog. In general, about 11 distinct stages are required for a frog to develop into maturity. It is also evident that the color of the creature changes several times over its lifespan. At the first stage in the process, an adult frog lays eggs, in which, after some time, embryos develop. In the next phase of frog development, embryos hatch their eggs and take the form of tadpoles, which will cling to algae. These tadpoles then develop external gills to allow breathing, and their tails keep on growing simultaneously. Over the next three stages, the creature develops rear and front legs, the latter being relatively shorter, while relying on food stored in its tail for survival and development. Subsequently, the tail becomes shorter and eventually it vanishes by the time the frog reaches its adolescence. Finally, as time passes, the frog matures and its size grows virtually three times bigger in comparison with its youth stage, and it is during adulthood that the frog can mate to continue its species. 178 words. #task1
