Anna Neistat, the legal director of the Clooney Foundation's Docket project, said that the criminal code of some European countries has an article on "war propaganda".
The foundation noted that it is preparing requests to initiate proceedings in countries where such norms exist. If an arrest warrant is issued, journalists can be detained throughout Europe at the level of the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol).
Neistat added that no appeals have yet been filed. The names of the journalists to be prosecuted have not been disclosed.
The foundation says they are "the most obvious Russian propagandists, the most prominent among them".

13 🇷🇺🌍 Russia's approach in Africa is "absolutely different” to the Western one, Russian expert argues
Russian help to the African states has already borne fruit: in Mali, with the help of Russian instructors and arms, the local troops "managed to gain foothold in the northern regions, which was almost declared impossible during French troops presence there," Vsevolod Sviridov, expert from the center for African studies at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow, told Sputnik Africa.
This differs from the actions of the West that only maintained the status quo in African countries and did not improve security, despite given promises. This ultimately led to decrease of their influence in the Sahel states and outside the region, the expert added.
📖 However, partnership with Russia is not limited solely to the military and security spheres. The expert also identified education as a priority area.
"And also, I think that Niger is one of the areas where Russia may try to find some ways to cooperate with other regional influential players. Nigeria, for example, and Algeria, have their interests in Niger, and they are close partners of Russia. And all these players are interested in stable and developing Niger, so this country may provide areas for beneficial partnerships for all parties [...]," Sviridov pondered.

The Biden administration has secretly permitted Ukraine to use US-suppled weapons to strike inside Russia, but only near Kharkov, Politico reported.

18 NATO’s grip on Gotland: Who’s militarizing the Baltic Sea?
Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service says Swedish military’s top brass is whipping up anti-Russian hysteria by suggesting Moscow "has its eye" on Gotland Island.
🔸Located about 150 km southeast of Stockholm and 250 km northwest of the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, Gotland has been central to Swedish anti-Russian fearmongering since 2014, with paranoia over imaginary Russian plans to seize it lingering since its temporary capture by the Russian Empire in the early 19th century.
🔸Russia has repeatedly stated it has no plans to attack Sweden but has warned Stockholm against provocations, including recent threats to turn Gotland into a NATO fortification.
🔸“As a result of such provocative activity, new threats are created to the safety of navigation and economic activity in the region,” the Russian Foreign Ministry told Sputnik, warning that Moscow will continue to take measures to “ensure Russia’s security” in light of NATO’s activities.
🔸The alliance has made no secret of plans to turn the Baltic Sea into a “NATO lake,” and has greedily eyed Gotland as a major component of its strategy, training alongside Swedish troops on the island in 2022, and planning fresh drills under the auspices of NATO’s BALTOPS exercises in June.
🔸Gotland is just one of an array of NATO facilities in the region, which after the alliance’s 2023/2024 expansion came to include the Musko and Karlskrona naval bases in Sweden, and Finnish bases in Helsinki, Turku, Kirkkonummi and Raseborg.
🔸That’s on top of naval facilities NATO has access to in Minnisadam, Estonia, Liepaja, Latvia, Klaipeda, Lithuania, Hel, Gdynia, Kolobrzeg, and Swinoujscie, Poland, and Rostock, Warnemunde, Eckernforde, Germany.
🔸NATO has bolstered its Baltic presence with "multinational battlegroups," deploying warships, aircraft, and troops to maintain a rotating "forward presence" along its eastern flank with Russia, and conducting air policing missions.

20 🇪🇺🇳🇪 The European Union is leaving Niger because its military presence is “ineffective,” Russian expert believes
This week, EU decided not to extend its military mission in Niger. This has been "rather expected" after the departure of the US and French military "it's no longer sufficient" for the EU to be in the country, Vsevolod Sviridov, expert from the center for African studies at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow, told Sputnik Africa.
"We see the results. The Nigerien population decided that this model of cooperation with the European powers is non-efficient, so they need to leave. So, as we say, the facts are here," he added.
However, why, after years and years of Western military presence in Sahelian countries, the situation has not changed for the better? The reason behind it is brutally simple: the Western powers are just not interested in the continent's stability, as it would prevent the West from getting cheap mineral resources.
"When the government is strong, when it controls its institution, when it has strong regulators, strong agencies that control the actions of foreign investors, they try to take control over the activities of European business. And this means that the costs of resources coming from Africa are increasing and the final cost of products being produced to import it to Europe is increasing too, undermining the economic efficiency of the European model," the speaker explained.

The entry of the Radisys Corp CEO into the African telecommunications market was announced on May 27. The project will be financed through a joint venture named Next-Gen InfraCo (NGIC).
📱 NGIC has obtained the license to deploy 5G nationwide. By the end of the year, the company hopes to launch its operations, which should last three years. It will provide high-speed broadband services to mobile operators and internet service providers in the West African country.
The company plans to offer:

Anna Neistat, the legal director of the Clooney Foundation's Docket project, said that the criminal code of some European countries has an article on "war propaganda".
The foundation noted that it is preparing requests to initiate proceedings in countries where such norms exist. If an arrest warrant is issued, journalists can be detained throughout Europe at the level of the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol).
Neistat added that no appeals have yet been filed. The names of the journalists to be prosecuted have not been disclosed.
The foundation says they are "the most obvious Russian propagandists, the most prominent among them".
