Well, ffs, I am VERY NOT IMPRESSED with the Trump’s WorldLibertyFinancial start. It requires a linked Web3 wallet. I strongly do not suggest using any except Coinbase (do not link your Ledger or MetaMask wallets). To add insult, the version of Coinbase they use is not the one connected directly to Coinbase.com or Coinbase Pro. You need download a different new version. The new Coinbase Wallet offers a “free” thirty day subscription that costs $29.99/month, but you can get up to $10 per month of the ETH gas fees paid by subscribing. Both Coinbase and the etherium network are infamous for charging exorbitant usage and/or gas fees. Had I mentioned etherium network based? Yeah, the network that charges insane gas fees to use. Grrr. So, rather than signing up for their highly offered monthly subscription, I spent $25 on Uphold to get $24.34 of ETH and sent that to the new Coinbase wallet app ETH address it gave me while working to open and active my new wallet there. I then spent over an hour trying to register myself with the new Coinbase wallet KYC. It required I provide a credit/debit card. I was able to link my Coinbase Pro account info. It failed to accept all attempts to register my debit card as a guest card. The ETH I sent from Uphold still had not shown. It cost $0.88 in ETH gas fees to transfer. AND turns out the ETH address I was given before I completed the new wallet KYC is not my wallet address. Merry Xmas. Opened a prepromised help ticket that sending to a valid address is a non-recoverable completed transaction. Had to purchase $25 of ETH to get the new Coinbase wallet to work, using BASE (the new worldlibertyfinance protocol running on the etherium network). That only cost me $26.49 to get $24.80 put into my new account address (that’s of course minus the convenient $0.20 etherium gas fees). They have several hundred ways to spent money. They are upfront about needing to spend large amounts and exceptionally high fees to bridge because while the gas fees remain insanely high, they’re significantly higher when you make little transactions under $1k. My futile hope about connection via Coinbase is they appear likely to list RLUSD immediately upon its release. It is not yet available on this new or old Coinbase. This gets an official Mongo thumbs down for now.
