Classroom hate crime warning - Scots children could be criminalised Children are being encouraged to report all ‘hate crimes’ to police ahead of the introduction of the SNP’s new law. Pupils and staff are being urged to raise the alarm over behaviour that could fall foul of the legislation, which comes into force next month. Youngsters are told that bullying can be deemed a hate incident if the victim or anyone else thinks it was carried out because of hostility or prejudice. There are fears that pupils could be reported to police over playground taunts that would normally be dealt with by teachers. ➣ Continue Reading... 📚 👀 ➥ Join: #LeaveOurKidsAloneSA ➥ LOKA Chat Group

Opposition Considers Coalition with ANC to Prevent Leftist Rule South Africa's main opposition, the Democratic Alliance (DA),
Opposition Considers Coalition with ANC to Prevent Leftist Rule South Africa's main opposition, the Democratic Alliance (DA), is contemplating forming a coalition with the ruling African National Congress (ANC) to avert governance by more leftist parties post this year's election. DA leader John Steenhuisen expressed concerns about a potential "doomsday scenario" where the ANC aligns with parties like the EFF or the MKP, prompting a reevaluation of the DA's stance on engaging with the ANC. Opinion polls suggest the ANC might lose its overall national majority for the first time, possibly leading to coalition talks with parties like the EFF, a situation Steenhuisen deemed "catastrophic" due to potential economic repercussions. Steenhuisen, leading a bloc of opposition parties, aims to prevent ANC-EFF collaboration but acknowledges the need for flexibility if his coalition fails to secure a majority. While the DA rules out an ANC coalition under certain conditions, including leadership change and policy reforms, it remains open to negotiation in a post-election scenario. Addressing criticisms of the DA's leadership composition, Steenhuisen emphasizes the party's focus on service delivery and poverty alleviation, irrespective of race. Internal polls project the DA to secure 25-30% of the vote, with Steenhuisen indicating a lower result than 2019 could challenge his leadership's sustainability. ✤ Source: Bloomberg | Daily Investor | Business Live ➥ Join: Casting Out Deceptions ✅️

Azania: Ricardo Marman calls on all to boycott 2024 elections Azania's recent call for a boycott of the 2024 elections due to their exclusion from the ballot is misguided and counterproductive. While their frustration with alleged Oppenheimer's influence in the electoral process is understandable, boycotting the elections only serves to strengthen the grip of stronger political parties in power. Additionally, Azania's history of legal action, such as the "Show Us The Virus" case against the government, raises questions about why they are not pursuing similar legal avenues against the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) regarding their exclusion from the ballot. Instead of withdrawing from the democratic process, Azania should seek alternative avenues to address grievances and advocate for change. Participation in the electoral process is essential for effecting meaningful change and ensuring all voices are heard. ✤ Continue Reading... 🗞📰 ➥ Join: Casting Out Deceptions ✅️

Israeli army claims 9,000 terrorists slain in Gaza war, yet Haaretz reports many are civilians, merely crossing IDF's boundary The Israeli army announced the elimination of a terrorist responsible for a rocket launch at Ashkelon, a routine occurrence. However, footage emerged showing four men walking together in civilian clothing before an airstrike killed two instantly and wounded the others. The incident sparked controversy as the men were unarmed and posed no threat to Israeli forces. An IDF officer acknowledged the severity of the incident, admitting uncertainty about the men's involvement in the rocket launch. This case sheds light on the broader issue of Palestinian casualties in Gaza, with over 32,000 dead, according to estimates, though the IDF claims around 9,000 were terrorists. ✤ Continue Reading...🗞📰 ✤ Note, Free registration with your email account is needed to view the full article at no cost. ➥ Join: Casting Out Deceptions ✅️

☄️ Breaking: Scotland's Shocking Hate Crime Laws Now in Effect 🔴A billboard advertising the new laws Scotland's controversial new hate crime laws have come into force as of April 1st, aiming to address the harm caused by hatred and prejudice. However, these laws have faced significant opposition from critics who argue that they may stifle free speech and be exploited for personal vendettas. The legislation consolidates existing laws while introducing new offenses targeting threatening or abusive behavior intended to stir up hatred based on characteristics such as age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, and transgender identity. First Minister Humza Yousaf has emphasized the pervasive nature of hatred in society, indicating the necessity for such legislative measures. The laws were developed following an independent review by Lord Bracadale, which highlighted the need for specific offenses related to stirring up hatred. Despite being passed by a majority in the Scottish parliament in 2021, notable figures such as JK Rowling and Elon Musk have publicly criticized the legislation, expressing concerns about its potential impact on free speech. Supporters of the new laws argue that they will contribute to a more tolerant Scotland. However, the Association of Scottish Police Superintendents (ASPS) has cautioned about the potential for the law to be "weaponized" by political activists across the spectrum. This debate underscores the complex balance between protecting individuals and communities from hate speech and safeguarding fundamental principles of free expression. ✤ Continue Reading... 🗞📰 ➥ Join: Casting Out Deceptions ✅️

National Trust Survey Reveals Children's Desire for More Time in Nature Charity Urges Government Action to Ensure Accessible
National Trust Survey Reveals Children's Desire for More Time in Nature Charity Urges Government Action to Ensure Accessible Green Spaces A recent survey by the National Trust and First News reveals that over three-quarters of children express a desire for more time spent in nature, with accessibility as a major concern. Despite government pledges, such as Rishi Sunak's commitment in January 2023, documents uncovered by the Guardian suggest a lack of intention to meet the 15-minute target for access to green spaces. The National Trust urges policymakers to prioritize this commitment, emphasizing its profound impact on children's well-being and environmental awareness. The survey, encompassing 1,000 children aged seven to 14 and 1,000 parents, highlights disparities in access to green spaces, particularly for lower-income households. Cost emerges as a significant obstacle for nearly a third of parents in such households. Efforts to improve access to green spaces align with broader environmental initiatives, including the environmental improvement plan mandated under the Environment Act. However, the disparity persists, with government data revealing that 38% of people live more than a 15-minute walk away from green or blue spaces. In response to these findings, the National Trust and First News are launching a nature photography competition, "Nature Around Me," aimed at encouraging young people to connect with everyday nature. Additionally, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) emphasizes its commitment to increasing opportunities for outdoor engagement, including specific funding for youth nature programs and investments in community green spaces and coastal paths. ✤ Sources: The Guardian | The Independant ➥ Join: Casting Out Deceptions ✅️

People across the continental United States will witness a partial or total solar eclipse next month, but you’ll need to take precautions to avoid injuring your eyes. On April 8, the moon will pass between Earth and the sun, temporarily blocking the sun’s light. During the celestial alignment, afternoon skies will darken for a short time along a path more than 100 miles wide, which cuts across Mexico, part of the U.S. and a small section of eastern Canada. Those outside this so-called path of totality will be able to see a partial solar eclipse, with the moon obscuring only part of the sun. ✤ Continue Reading... 🗞 📰 ➥ Join: Casting Out Deceptions ✅️
