Stop Overreach: Fix the Flawed Hate Crimes & Hate Speech Regulations
The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development is calling for public input on the draft regulations for the Prevention and Combating of Hate Crimes and Hate Speech Act, 2023. While South Africans overwhelmingly support action against real hate crimes, these draft regulations raise serious concerns about privacy, government overreach, and enforcement that could undermine free expression and justice. Seeing as this is a growing global concern, it is imperative that South Africans fight for our freedom to speak our minds.

Journalists Restricted From Interviewing EFF Supporters at East London Court
Journalists covering Julius Malema’s pre-sentencing appearance at the East London Magistrate’s Court report being instructed by senior EFF officials to stop interviewing ordinary supporters gathered outside the venue.
Reporters initially attempted to question supporters about the case and the charges involved, but many struggled to provide clear or substantive explanations.
Shortly thereafter, media were told engagement would be limited to designated senior party representatives. No written directive was issued, but the instruction was enforced on the ground while supporters continued chanting and displaying party regalia.
The restriction has raised questions around transparency, message control, and media access during high-profile legal proceedings.
Read the full report for detailed on-the-ground observations and analysis of the media restrictions outside the court.

Fascism is not offensive speech or disliked personalities. It is state power overriding individual liberty, most clearly through regulating speech, punishing dissent, and controlling narratives.
History shows this under Mussolini and Hitler. Over the last five years, the same pattern has resurfaced with governments seeking to police expression “for safety” or “harmony.”
Parties and states like the ANC in South Africa, pushing laws to regulate podcasts and publicly warning critics such as AfriForum as “racist disinformation”, and governments across Europe and the UK that actively control speech, are following the fascist model — not those merely accused of saying things you don’t like.
Recognising this evolution is crucial to defending real freedom of expression.

Speak Out Against the New Hate Speech Regulations
The Department of Justice wants to enforce strict new hate speech regulations that could criminalise ordinary speech, monitor your social media, and collect sensitive personal data. This isn’t just about law—it’s about freedom, fairness, and privacy. Your voice matters. Stand up before it’s too late.
Read the draft regulations and submit your comment now. Share your concerns and help protect South Africans’ rights. 👉 Dear SA

Podcast Regulation or Political Control?
South Africa’s government is moving to bring podcasts under formal regulation, framing it as a long-overdue update to outdated media laws. Critics argue the move has little to do with online safety and far more to do with control. Podcasts have become a critical space for independent commentary, investigative discussion, and narrative challenge—operating outside traditional broadcast oversight. While the government claims constitutional protections will remain intact, concerns persist that complaint mechanisms, vague definitions of “harmful content,” and compliance pressure could lead to self-censorship. Internationally, podcasts are largely treated as digital speech, not broadcast media.
The question is why South Africa is choosing a different path now.

THE GLOBAL REPLACEMENT: CITIZENS LAST
A disturbing pattern is emerging across the globe, from the UK and France to the USA and Germany. Official citizens, who have paid into the system for generations, are being pushed to the back of the queue. In London and Berlin, state resources are increasingly diverted toward undocumented arrivals, offering housing and stipends while locals face a spiraling cost-of-living crisis.
South Africa is next.
The recent SASSA SRD policy update, confirming that asylum seekers and special permit holders now qualify for the R370 grant, is a slap in the face to millions of unemployed South Africans whose applications are routinely declined. Combined with the BELA Bill, which forces schools to admit undocumented children regardless of space or resources, the message is clear: our borders and our people no longer matter to the state.
We are witnessing the systematic corrosion of our sovereignty. If we don’t speak up now, there will be nothing left to save.

Europe’s Decline: From Factories to Imports
From the Volkswagen Golf in 2000 to the Dacia Sandero in 2025, Europe’s decline is painfully visible. The Golf symbolized a continent of industry, skilled labor, and pride in engineering—made in Europe, by Europeans, for Europeans. Today, the Sandero, cheap and functional, is assembled in Romania with parts from China, Turkey, and Morocco. The shift is more than cars—it’s a reflection of an entire economic collapse.
Industry now accounts for just 13% of the eurozone economy, down from almost 20% in 2000. Steel production has dropped 30% since 2008. Factories have moved to China, India, Mexico, and Vietnam, attracted by cheap energy and supportive governments. Meanwhile, Europe’s primary sector—the farms that fed the continent—has been decimated. Over 3 million EU farms closed between 2010 and 2020 due to bureaucracy, carbon targets, and regulation. Food imports now come from Chile, Ukraine, and Morocco, ironically increasing emissions instead of reducing them.
Chinese companies now own stakes in what were European icons: Volvo (Geely), MG (SAIC Motor), Pirelli, and even battery suppliers for Europe’s green transition. EU imports from China reach 21% of total imports, but exports go there at just 8%. Knowledge is European, production and profit are Chinese.
Meanwhile, the average European faces stagnant wages, rising taxes, and dwindling purchasing power. The Dacia Sandero isn’t a failure—it’s a symptom. Netflix, vegan delivery, and solar panels have replaced industrial pride and food security. Europe has become a consumer continent.
For 25 years, the continent fought its strengths—agriculture, industry, energy, property—while chasing green ideals, quotas, and moral superiority. The result: dependence, deficit, and vulnerability.
In 2000, we bought the Golf. In 2025, we buy the Dacia. The car didn’t change. We did. Europe manufactures less, imports more, and debates everything from gender identity to cows’ CO₂ emissions while China manufactures, India grows, and America reindustrializes. The ultimate irony: Europe has become proudly impoverished.

Former DA Minister Resigns From Party, Claims It's"Captured by the ANC"
After 31 years within the DA, Dion George has formally walked away, citing what he describes as the party’s effective capture by the ANC. His departure adds to a growing list of figures sidelined or pushed out under John Steenhuisen’s leadership, raising uncomfortable questions about the DA’s internal direction and political independence.
👇 Comment below: is this principled dissent, or evidence of a party losing its ideological spine and strategic coherence?

“Gauteng SAPS Works for Criminal Cartels” — Police Intelligence Bombshell
A top police intelligence official has publicly voiced what many have long suspected: elements within Gauteng’s police are allegedly in the pocket of organised crime, providing protection to syndicates in exchange for payment. If even partially accurate, it goes a long way toward explaining why the province increasingly resembles a criminal free-for-all.
In this episode, we unpack:
Testimony from police intelligence pointing to an ecosystem linking criminals, politicians, and paid protection schemes
Claims that so-called “career criminals” rise into effectively untouchable power brokers — and why prosecutions routinely evaporate
The Kat Matlala / Katiso Molefe political links and what they reveal about state capture at ground level
The DA’s public implosion: Dion George’s removal from a ministerial role, his subsequent resignation, and a handling that signals internal disarray
Herman Mashaba’s confirmation that he is contesting the Johannesburg mayoralty — and why this local election is shaping up to be brutal
Banks in the spotlight: the widening gap between repo and prime, cartel investigations, and why consumer credit increasingly resembles sanctioned predation
👇 Join the debate: what represents the deeper systemic failure — criminal penetration of SAPS, political parties coming apart at the seams, or banks tightening the vice on already-strained households?

IWF finds sexual imagery of children which 'appears to have been' made by Grok
The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) says its analysts have discovered "criminal imagery" of girls aged between 11 and 13 which "appears to have been created" using Grok.
The AI tool is owned by Elon Musk's firm xAI. It can be accessed either through its website and app, or through the social media platform X.
The IWF said it found "sexualised and topless imagery of girls" on a "dark web forum" in which users claimed they used Grok to create the imagery.
The BBC has approached X and xAI for comment.
The IWF's Ngaire Alexander told the BBC tools like Grok now risked "bringing sexual AI imagery of children into the mainstream".
He said the material would be classified as Category C under UK law - the lowest severity of criminal material.
But he said the user who uploaded it had then used a different AI tool, not made by xAI, to create a Category A image - the most serious category.
"We are extremely concerned about the ease and speed with which people can apparently generate photo-realistic child sexual abuse material (CSAM)," he said.
X and xAI were previously contacted by Ofcom, following reports Grok can be used to make "sexualised images of children" and undress women.
In a previous statement, X said: "We take action against illegal content on X, including CSAM, by removing it, permanently suspending accounts, and working with local governments and law enforcement as necessary.
"Anyone using or prompting Grok to make illegal content will suffer the same consequences as if they upload illegal content."

Panic As Coup LOOMS -Generals Call Ramaphosa Government 'MICKEY MOUSE!
Vice Admiral Monde Lobese raised concerns about defense funding decisions and questioned whether they might be influenced by external interests including organized crime networks. He compared inadequate military resources to a house without walls or proper security measures. Lieutenant General Ntshavheni Maphaha told parliamentarians that current defense policies have weakened South Africa's military capabilities and stated that the country cannot maintain regional leadership without adequate defense capacity.
