WHEN ENCOUNTER OUTRUNS PROCESS A spiritual warning to the Church When Kanye West publicly announced his conversion, the Church rejoiced—and rightly so. A soul professed Christ. He spoke openly about Jesus, released worship-centered music, and stood on global stages declaring faith almost overnight. But not long after, spiritual cracks began to surface. What unfolded was not a failure of salvation, but a short-circuiting of process. There was exposure without enclosure, influence without formation, public voice without private dealings. The microphone came before mentorship; the platform came before priesthood. This is not new. Scripture and history both testify. THE DANGER AFTER THE ALTAR CALL The most vulnerable moment in a believer’s life is not before conversion—it is after encounter. In the Kingdom, new birth is instant, but transformation is progressive. Salvation changes your spirit immediately, but your soul must be discipled, and your flesh must be subdued over time. Encounter does not equal establishment. Calling does not equal commissioning. Anointing does not equal maturity. SAUL OF TARSUS: CALLED, THEN HIDDEN Paul encountered Jesus dramatically on the road to Damascus. Yet Scripture records something striking: He did not go straight to the apostles. He did not begin public ministry immediately. > “I did not immediately consult with flesh and blood… but I went away into Arabia.” (Gal. 1:16–17) Three years of obscurity. Years of formation. Years of unlearning before teaching. If Paul needed process, who does not? DAVID: ANOINTED, THEN ABANDONED David was anointed king as a teenager, but he did not ascend the throne for over a decade. Instead, he returned to the sheep, then to caves, then to betrayal, rejection, and wilderness dealings. The oil came early. The crown came late. Why? Because God will not enthrone what He has not yet tested. SAMSON: GIFTED BUT UNGOVERNED Samson’s story is the tragedy of anointing without accountability. He was empowered mightily by the Spirit, yet never submitted to formation. His strength grew, but his soul did not. The result? A man who could defeat armies but could not conquer appetite. Anointing can lift a man high, but only character can keep him there. MODERN PARALLELS: FAME WITHOUT FATHERING In our generation, we have seen gifted musicians, preachers, and influencers rise suddenly after conversion—many sincere, many passionate, many loved by the Church. Yet without spiritual fathering, doctrinal grounding, and hidden seasons, many burned out, fell into error, or publicly contradicted the faith they once professed. This does not mean their encounters were false. It means their process was incomplete. GOD’S UNCHANGING ORDER Scripture is consistent: Raised → then Served → then Sent Formation before manifestation Root before fruit Stop dismissing spiritual order by saying, “We are not God.” The Scripture cannot be broken. God may call a man suddenly, but He never establishes a man carelessly. A FINAL WORD TO THE CHURCH Let us celebrate conversions—but let us also protect converts. Let us applaud encounters—but let us insist on process. Let us open altars—but let us also build schools of formation. Because in the Kingdom, speed can be dangerous, and visibility without maturity is a liability. The goal is not to rise quickly. The goal is to stand faithfully—long after the spotlight fades.

WHY MANY BELIEVERS PRAY, FAST, AND STILL MISS GOD’S DIRECTION — APOSTLE JOSHUA SELMAN Many believers are sincere, prayerful, and consistent, yet they still struggle to discern God’s direction. This is not because God is silent, but because revelation is not accessed merely by activity; it is accessed by alignment. Scripture makes it clear that “the secret of the Lord is with them that fear Him” (Psalm 25:14). Without reverence, brokenness, and submission, spiritual exercises can become noise instead of gateways. God does not speak to impress; He speaks to instruct those who are postured to obey. One major reason believers miss direction is familiarity with spiritual routines without intimacy. You can know how to pray and still not know God. Moses did not just experience power; he knew God’s ways (Psalm 103:7). Samuel learned early that hearing God required stillness, sensitivity, and the humility to say, “Speak Lord, for your servant hears” (1 Samuel 3:10). Direction flows where the heart is quiet enough to receive correction, not just promises. God’s generals understood this principle. Apostle Joshua Selman often references Enoch, a man who walked with God and therefore escaped confusion entirely (Genesis 5:24). He speaks of Apostle Paul, who after encountering Jesus, did not rush into ministry but withdrew to Arabia to gain clarity and alignment (Galatians 1:17–18). Direction was birthed in separation. Even Jesus Himself withdrew frequently to lonely places to pray, teaching us that clarity is preserved in intimacy (Luke 5:16). If you desire direction, pursue alignment more than answers. Build an altar of obedience, not just intensity. The voice of God becomes clearer when the will is surrendered. Isaiah 30:21 assures us that when alignment is restored, “your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk in it.” When you walk with God, direction stops being a struggle and becomes a lifestyle.
