APPLETON, Wis. — A tornado left a trail of destruction after tearing through Wisconsin's Fox Valley, about 35 miles south of Green Bay, on Monday afternoon. The twister tore directly through the cities of Menasha and Appleton, destroying homes and knocking down trees and power lines.
Several local states of emergency have been declared and many of the communities directly impacted remained without power early Tuesday.
