R to @daily_btc_lore: 4/11 - On May 23, 2017, 56 companies met in New York and cut a deal. Barry Silbert of DCG brokered it: activate SegWit in August, then double the block size to 2MB three months later. Miners, exchanges and wallet providers signed. Bitcoin's core developers were not present.
