Makerfield has always has been a Labour stronghold for over a hundred years. It is one of Labours safest seats, it forms part of what they call the 'red wall'.
This was a protest Labour leadership vote.
When the HMO'S etc start appearing over the next couple of years, there's going to be a unchangeable shift in this labour seat.
Makerfield is a throw back to old middle England.. Its all going to change soon when they are confronted with reality and have to start engaging and thinking for themselves.

This is from yesterday’s Sheffield “Raise the Colours” protest. South Yorkshire Police arrested six people (public order offences + assaults on officers) but reported no serious injuries. The video clearly shows a police officer throwing young man whos was on his back footing being thrown with heavy force after scuffles where his head contacted a metal bollard. Claims of critical condition remain unverified but it looks serious by the actions of the other police officers on the scene.
