"Animal magnetism, sympathetic healing, magic, second sight, perceptive dreaming, spectral vision and visions of all kinds are related phenomena, branches of the same trunk, and offer sure and irrefutable evidence of a connection between beings based on a totally different order of things to that of nature, which is based on the laws of space, time and causality; while that other order is more profound, original and immediate, which is why, in the face of this order, the first and most universal laws of nature, being purely formal, have no validity, and as a consequence time and space no longer separate individuals, nor does the segregation and isolation of them due to those forms still set insurmountable limits to the communication of thoughts and the immediate flow of the will; so that exchanges originate by a totally different route from physical causality and the connected chain of its members, namely: simply by virtue of an act of the will manifested in a special way and thus potentiated beyond the individual.
