Had the pleasure of sitting down with The Citizen Newspaper in Tanzania to discuss the investment climate in the country. As I have mentioned, I am very bullish on investments into emerging economies. There is substantial potential as a Westerner to bring capital and expertise into the country, build and develop large projects, and ROI while providing sizable value—addition.

Benefits of owning an avocado farm… free and unlimited supply of avocado 🥑😄 Back at the avocado farm this week to oversee some development tasks and ensure we are maintaining our rigorous planting schedule. Also ensuring our infrastructure and capacity is in order for harvest and export season. Really cool to look back over the course of the last 2 1/2 years and see how much we built and how quickly — to think this was barren land with 6 ft tall grasses and no sign of life. Now it hosts infrastructure, solar electricity, hot water heaters, WiFi, TV, modern amenity, structures and staff housing, buildings, septic systems, road networks, chicken coop, vegetable gardens, and of course, mountains and mountains of avocado trees.

Executives and Attorneys of Tova Farms were happy to meet with representatives of the government of Tanzania within the Ministry of Investment under the Office of the President, to discuss bilateral trade matters and reforms which can bolster economic growth and output. We were pleased to engage to such a warm reception from a government willing to attract foreign investment and continue to improve and optimize their processes and procedures for the benefit of all.

In business, those who can analyze, strategize, isolate areas of weakness in the market and penetrate to capture market share are the ones who win. In some senses, I like to say that Business is war and it’s CEO’s are strategic commanders. Politics is the same, especially when dealing with the upper echelon of the two.

Permeates borders between nations and coercively influences the upper echelons of government.

Many African leaders called upon Russia to help them build their countries infrastructure last week. What they don’t realize is that their high tax rates and business killing laws substantially reduce jobs, investment, and economic growth. Lower taxes and make investments easier!

Life is too short to be stagnant. Stagnation and complacency are a death sentence of mediocrity. The system is rigged against us, in that, not only do we have to overcome all of the challenges, disparities in wealth, insignificant access to capital, standardized education that limits free expression, and environmental factors that lower cognitive function (fluoride etc), but we must do so in an efficient time so we may continue to compound wealth and build control over assets and infrastructure. For most people obtaining this minor success and financial well-being takes half a lifetime, whilst the other half is spent in physical deterioration. A wasted life of insignificance to the grand scheme of things, having never made a substantial impact on world affairs or technological advance. I want to build something great that can last many lifetimes, because my vision for the future requires the building of societal architecture and future-shaping work that can take many more that just one small existence.

Feels good to be back in Cape Town after doing some traveling to set up our Dubai subsidiary. Making good progress!
