❗️Huawei secretly funds US research The blacklisted Chinese telecoms giant has been covertly funding cutting edge research at US universities via the Washington-based Optica Foundation. The foundation runs a competition that has awarded millions of US dollars to scientists around the world, including researchers at US universities that have banned their staff from dealing with Huawei. Optica CEO Liz Rogan said there was "nothing unusual" about that fact that Huawei had written into its agreement with the foundation that the company would reman an anonymous donor. 🟩 @RTnews_unc3
