Hello everyone - we need to address some misinformation about Telegram is game over or whatever is being spread.
For those who didn't know, Telegram has announced an update where they are working more with law enforcement.
This is no news we coming more into this - but for sure everyone is overreacting.
Telegram has started moderating the platform since over 1+ year ago and everyone was worried back then it would kill the platform. It didn't - all of you are still here today.
So what Telegram CEO have been forced to do I assume, is to some extent try work with law enforcement without getting themselves taken down from app store and google store in India and Brazil who had applied for them to be removed.
So what does Telegram do? They comply with ONLY terror crime, and copyright requests.
And they are promising us to be completely transparent with what they are going to take down through @transparency (which I personally thing is super great if is used as they promise).
As well to all of this - the only thing Telegram discloses is your IP address, your phone number and your email (if you even use email 2FA which is not safe).
As long as you have good OPSEC - which I assume ALL OF YOU HAVE.
Even the basics of OPSEC - a VPN and a burner phone number and no email. MOST OF YOU SHOULD BE GOOD. If not - take consultation with Retro.
Stop spreading false information - this platform is truly amazing. For sure we have issues more and more, but the day this platform is going to die is far from now.
