I hate being powerless What I need now is courage, not cowardice. It’s not strength or discipline, it’s the courage to face what you’re really fearing and get your ass kicked by it. It’s the courage to go out there and fail. It’s the courage to go out there and face the unknown and make it known. It’s the courage to see the mountains not as walls but as paths to see the horizon. It’s the courage to embody your mortality, to realise that life is beautiful because we are doomed. It’s the courage to reject the death cult and embrace a love of life. It’s the courage to say no to throwing away your life in the name of a “greater cause” because it’s the easy way out and instead embodying that greater cause and championing. Many people say they want to die for a cause. That’s not true. They’re hoping their death will absolve them of their moral responsibility to live for something greater and champion it. They seek to die prematurely so that they may never reach a point where they may fail, a point where their failure matters, because they are scared. Courage is living to your fullest potential, and only having reached that where you embrace death with open arms, knowing that this truly is an apex, not premature destruction in an attempt to hide from true potential. Cowardice is not looking to die in the line of duty. Courage is surviving and fighting. Courage is choosing a reason to wake up and live each day. A fire fighter doesn't seek to burn in a building, but he is ready to if he must. No soldier enters the battlefield seeking death, but they have accepted it, and because of that they live forever. We often confuse it for something we have, we are either in that state or not. Truth is, we can choose to be in that state. To stop being so fearful and embrace both life and death, not searching for an easy life and quick death, but one with meaning and purpose. Courage is taking responsibility rather than saying “Not my monkeys not my circus”. When you shirk responsibility towards yourself and the things you believe in, a part of your soul dies. A part of your masculinity dies. What Jesus saw in you when he chose to redeem you in the Garden of Gethsemane dies. And when you are courageous, you are no longer powerless, because you have full control over the most powerful weapon: yourself.

Numbers 21:4-9 The Fiery Serpents

4 And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged [1] because of the way. 5 And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. 6 And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. 7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord, and against thee; pray unto the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. 8 And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. 9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

Half of the problem is understanding what the problem is. By defining it, it becomes a known unknown from an unknown unknown. And a decent chance of the time, the problem isn't really a problem once you've defined it and understood it.
