- Flag raising
Key Dates:
June 12, 1990: The Declaration of State Sovereignty of the RSFSR was adopted.
June 12, 1998: The President proposed renaming the holiday to "Russia Day".

🏞Our trip to Vyborg was brilliant!
During the trip we had several interesting activities!
🌲 Visited astonishing Monrepo Park, where we enjoyed the natural surroundings, tasted water from the springs and saw rocks dating back to the Ice Age.
🔨 Our students tried their best as smiths
📷 Walked the old streets of Vyborg, which felt like Scandinavia of XVI century
🏰 Climbed the tower of St. Olav
🍫 Visited the museum of chocolate
🗿 Saw a lot of cultural heritage
🧠 Heard a lot of interesting histories from our oustanding guides!
And most importantly, we had a really good time together! 🆒

🐻 It's Russian Language Day 🐻
It's eloquent, it's angry, it's powerful, it's difficult and mind-blowing — it is everything 🪆 And it wouldn't exist as we know it today without Alexander Pushkin. Let's say "Спасибо!" 🙌🏻

From 12 to 17 April 2026, our third‑year “World Politics and Politology” student Hind Mimmich participated in the C‑MIMUN 2026 at MSIIR — one of the year’s key youth diplomatic events. Here are her impressions and advice for students planning to join next year!
"Attending the Churkin Model United Nations in Moscow profoundly reinforced my academic interests. This was my second MUN, where I have been representing France in a UNICEF committee on eradicating child labor (SDG 4). As a Moroccan studying world politics, I think that this issue is not abstract to me. Don't wait to start. MUN transforms how you engage with global issues in ways a traditional classroom simply cannot. It’s also an incredible networking opportunity, allowing you to collaborate with interesting people from Russia and other countries in an attempt to solve the most pressing problems of humanity!"
🔖Apostillisation of Educational Documents
After you graduate from HSE University — Saint Petersburg, you might want to legalise your diploma so that it is recognised abroad.
What is apostillisation of an education document? An apostille is a certification issued in accordance with the Apostille Convention. A document on which an apostille has been placed is considered “apostilled.” The apostille replaces often lengthy, costly, and complicated legalisation procedures. The apostille is attached to the state issued diploma and its supplement and links them together.📌Instructions of how to receive an apostille you can find through this link

🌉Today we are celebrating the 323rd anniversary of St. Petersburg. This is a city that unites us all. It is a unique place where everyone can feel at home. Whether you come from another city in Russia or another continent, you can find yourself in this place.
⏳Historical note: The founding of St. Petersburg was not celebrated until a hundred years after Peter the Great laid the first stone in the foundation of the Peter and Paul Fortress in 1703. The first celebrations were relatively modest, as the residents themselves were skeptical about the future of the city on the Neva River. However, in 1903, the anniversary was marked with cannon fire and mass festivities. And in 2026, the tradition continues — as is customary, Peter will celebrate its 323rd City Day in grand style. You can find more interesting events in our monthly digest from our student Josine.

The International Cinema Discussion Club invites you to watch David Frankel's comedy "The Devil Wears Prada" starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway.
The film tells about a simple girl who wants to be a journalist and becomes an assistant to an editor of one of the largest fashion magazines Miranda Priestly. Through the naive gaze of the main character, the viewer is immersed in the world of high fashion and sees its inside out. The director uses typical comedy images, but adds irony and glamour to them and also tries to show the versatility of the characters: to reveal their true essence or to show them sincere and vulnerable. The most attractive figure in the film is the heroine of Meryl Streep, whose prototype was Vogue editor Anna Wintour. Miranda Priestly sets the archetype of the "steel lady" who considers a successful career to be her main value and creates an armor of rigor, coldness and cynicism. At the same time, the image seems charming to the audience due to the facial expressions and manners of the actress, as well as well-designed costumes. Visual language communicates a lot to viewers and helps them to immerse in the world of fashion. Creators have spent large sums on branded clothing and it acts as the engine of the plot, reveals the some characteristics of the characters and aesthetically attracts viewers.
It is important to emphasize that even twenty years later, the film remains significant, funny and fashionable, because it exposes many problems that are only growing in the era of capitalism. As part of our discussion, we will try not only to understand the narrative component of the film, but also to talk about important topics that arise there. For instance, we will discuss how the film presents corporate culture, consumer society and stereotypes about women's appearance. The second part of the film is currently being released, and it seems to us that before watching it we need to refresh our memory of the first one and remember what attracts us so much to this movie.
