We went to Laguna Beach for the long Independence Day weekend. It was beautiful and the weather was perfect. The drone light show in place of fireworks was a bust. I was so disappointed in humanity as the people around me excitedly shouted out the recognizable shapes in the sky. 🙄 We were definitely safe from fires and nationalism. The other thing I noticed is that I was often a minority wherever I went. The beach was definitely a mix of Asians, Mexicans, blacks, Arabs, and whites. I have often traveled to vacation destinations and appreciated the diversity because I was happy to share this beautiful place with foreign vacationers. But, as I traveled through CA the awareness of being a minority only heightened. As our revolutionary forefathers were on my mind, I couldn't help but wonder if these people who do not even speak English will stand beside me to defend the liberty that founded America. I just don't think so. #LibertyForever
