If inflation continues to run hotter than expected, it would mark the highest reading since April 2023. | 20 |  🚨 Critical Vulnerability in Zcash Orchard Has Been Urgently Patched
A soundness bug that has existed since 2022 in the Orchard shielded pool could allow the creation of unlimited fake ZEC, nearly impossible to detect due to its privacy features.
Discovered by: Security researcher Taylor Hornby using Claude Opus 4.8 (May 29, 2026). He built a complete working exploit in a short time.

🖤 Soft fork + Hard fork NU6.2 activated on June 3, 2026
🔻 No signs of exploitation on mainnet have been recorded.
🔻 ZEC price dropped sharply by around 30-40% after the disclosure, partly due to market pressure.
This event shows that AI is becoming a powerful audit tool in crypto security. The Zcash team responded quite quickly and transparently.
