Hans Jenny's science was also brought into the medical field with a vibratory therapeutic devices that would use the combination of 5 frequencies to balance physical ailments. To be extrapolated upon in a bit, there is a TON of bunk info out there on cymatics. At this time, there is no 1:1 ratio between a frequency and a given geometry. The displayed geometry is dependent on a multitude of variables such as the shape, depth, material of the pan being vibrating, as well as the depth of the water and the type of material in the water ( many people add things like alcohol, honey, coffee grounds, food dye, etc, to bring about more depth and structure to what they see). There is also no evidence for the so called "Sri Yantra & OM chant" in a cymatic display for multiple reasons. It was alluded to as only a possibility but never verified in a book called "Rhythms of Vision". The OM is a dynamic, multi-toned sound, so it could only represent a cascade of various geometries, never given a standing wave impression of Sri Yantra. Sure would be cool if one day it would be replicated but at this time is pure myth.

Alright, let's get ready for some #cymatics. In a nutshell and materially speaking for the moment, cymatics is the study (mostly an art compared to a science at this point of time) of the effects of audible sound upon the structuring of macroscopic matter. Cymatics was initiated in modernity with the work of Hans Jenny which will be highlighted in the next post. Basic visualizations began with the vibrating of a metal plate with something like a violin bow to move the sand on the plate to various configurations. Then one can vibrate the plate with a frequency generator. And now the movement has progressed radically in the past couple of years with all kinds of DIY kits being experimented with various liquid mediums, digital displays, and various lighting modalities. The evolution will continue as mostly art and with the mind numbing phrases such as "It's all frequency man" until the qualitative science gain more traction. Excepting for the work of Jon Stuart Reid and Casey Atterbury, most people are just enthralled with the pretty images without taking the work any further.
