✍Five things you should know about the month of Muharram(current month) ١- هو أول شهور السنة وهو من أشهر الحرم: قال تعالى : ( { إِنَّ عِدَّةَ ٱلشُّهُورِ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱثۡنَا عَشَرَ شَهۡرࣰا فِی كِتَـٰبِ ٱللَّهِ یَوۡمَ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰ⁠تِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ مِنۡهَاۤ أَرۡبَعَةٌ حُرُمࣱۚ ذَ ٰ⁠لِكَ ٱلدِّینُ ٱلۡقَیِّمُۚ فَلَا تَظۡلِمُوا۟ فِیهِنَّ أَنفُسَكُمۡۚ وَقَـٰتِلُوا۟ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِینَ كَاۤفَّةࣰ كَمَا یُقَـٰتِلُونَكُمۡ كَاۤفَّةࣰۚ وَٱعۡلَمُوۤا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلۡمُتَّقِینَ } {التوبة 36} 1- It's the first month of the year and it's from the sacred months: Allah The Almighty says: {Verily, the number of months with Allah is twelve months (in a year), so was it ordained by Allah on the Day when He created the heavens and the earth; of them four are Sacred, (i.e. the 1st, the 7th, the 11th and the 12th months of the Islamic calendar). That is the right religion, so wrong not yourselves therein, and fight against the Mushrikun (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) collectively, as they fight against you collectively. But know that Allah is with those who are Al-Muttaqun.} [Surah At-Tawbah: 36]) عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الزَّمَانُ قَدْ اسْتَدَارَ كَهَيْئَتِهِ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ اللَّهُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ السَّنَةُ اثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْرًا مِنْهَا أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌ ثَلاثَةٌ مُتَوَالِيَاتٌ ذُو الْقَعْدَةِ وَذُو الْحِجَّةِ وَالْمُحَرَّمُ وَرَجَبُ مُضَرَ الَّذِي بَيْنَ جُمَادَى وَشَعْبَانَ " .أخرجه البخاري ومسلم Narrated by Abu Bakra: The Prophet (ﷺ) said. "(The division of time has turned to its original form which was current when Allah created the Heavens and the Earths. The year is of twelve months, out of which four months are sacred: Three are in succession Dhul-Qa' da, Dhul-Hijja and Muharram, and (the fourth is) Rajab of (the tribe of) Mudar which comes between Jumadi-ath-Thaniyah and Sha ban." Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim ٢- صومه من أفضل الصيام بعد رمضان: عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَفْضَلُ الصِّيَامِ بَعْدَ رَمَضَانَ شَهْرُ اللَّهِ الْمُحَرَّمُ وأفضل الصلاة بعد الفريضة صلاة الليل " رواه مسلم 2- Its Fasting is the best fasting after Ramadan: Narrated by Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying: The best fast after Ramadan is the fasting of Allah's month al-Muharram, and the best prayer after the prescribed prayer is the prayer during night. Reported by Muslim ٣- فيه صيام يوم التاسع والعاشر: عَن ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَئِنْ بَقِيتُ إِلَى قَابِلٍ لأصومن التَّاسِع» . رَوَاهُ مُسلم 3- In it, is the fasting of the 9th and 10th of Muharram: Abdullah bin 'Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: If I live till the next (year), I would definitely observe fast on the 9th(Muharram). Reported by Muslim ٤- كان النبي يتحرى صيامه: عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ : مَا رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَحَرَّى صِيَامَ يَوْمٍ فَضَّلَهُ عَلَى غَيْرِهِ إِلا هَذَا الْيَوْمَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ وَهَذَا الشَّهْرَ يَعْنِي شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ . " رواه البخاري 4- The Prophet was eager to fast the 10th: On the authority of Ibn `Abbas he said: I never saw the Prophet (ﷺ) seeking to fast on a day that he favored more than another except this day, the day of 'Ashura', and this month, meaning the month of Ramadan. Reported by Al-Bukhari ٥- صيام العاشر من محرم يكفر السنة الماضية: عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ صِيَامُ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ أَحْتَسِبُ عَلَى اللَّهِ أَنْ يُكَفِّرَ السَّنَةَ الَّتِي قَبْلَهُ وَالسَّنَةَ الَّتِي بَعْدَهُ وَصِيَامُ يَوْمِ عَاشُورَاءَ أَحْتَسِبُ عَلَى اللَّهِ أَنْ يُكَفِّرَ السَّنَةَ الَّتِي قَبْلَهُ " رواه مسلم

5- Fasting the tenth of Mu7arram expiates the sins of the previous year!  On the authority of Abu Qatadah, The Prophet (ﷺ) said: I anticipate from Allah that fasting on the day of 'Arafa may expiate for the sins of the preceding and the coming years, and I anticipate from Allah that fasting on the day of Ashura may atone for the sins of the preceding year. Al-Shatibi May Allah have mercy on him said: "Among the signs of happiness for a servant: 1. Ease in performing acts of obedience. 2. Following the Sunnah in actions. 3. Companionship with righteous people. 4. Good manners with brothers. 5. Offering goodness to people. 6. Concern for the well-being of Muslims. 7. I read from some sources that "Since the Gaza war, the conversion rate of people accepting Islam has increased by 400% in Europe." Regardless of its accuracy, we know for certain the saying of Allah:: { یُرِیدُونَ لِیُطۡفِـُٔوا۟ نُورَ ٱللَّهِ بِأَفۡوَ ٰ⁠هِهِمۡ وَٱللَّهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِۦ وَلَوۡ كَرِهَ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ } They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it. [Surah Aṣ-Ṣaff: 8] It also reminds about the saying Allah (عز وجل) { إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ یُنفِقُونَ أَمۡوَ ٰ⁠لَهُمۡ لِیَصُدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِیلِ ٱللَّهِۚ فَسَیُنفِقُونَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُونُ عَلَیۡهِمۡ حَسۡرَةࣰ ثُمَّ یُغۡلَبُونَۗ وَٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوۤا۟ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ یُحۡشَرُونَ } Indeed, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to avert [people] from the way of Allah . So they will spend it; then it will be for them a [source of] regret; then they will be overcome. And those who have disbelieved - unto Hell they will be gathered. [Surah Al-Anfāl: 36]

📜 Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Baz was asked: ▪️ Question 1: How can a person rid themselves of a hard heart, and what are its causes? Answer: The causes of a hard heart include sins, disobedience, frequent negligence, and accompanying heedless and immoral people. All these traits contribute to hardening the heart. Conversely, softening and purifying the heart and bringing it peace comes from obeying Allah, keeping the company of righteous people, and spending time in remembrance, reading the Quran, and seeking forgiveness. Those who spend their time remembering Allah, reading the Quran, and keeping the company of righteous people, while avoiding heedless and wicked companions, will find their hearts softened and purified. Allah Almighty says: "Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest" (13:28). 📚 Majmoo'al-Fatawa

Ibn Taymiyyah May Allah have mercy on him said: "Benefiting others is not always the best action. A person should have moments where they privately commune with their Lord, reflect on themselves, and hold themselves accountable. In such moments, this personal act is better than socializing and benefiting others. For this reason, a person’s solitude with their Lord at night is better than their gathering with people."
