The Komodo Archipelago is always an adventure and here's our favourite photos from last month's expedition! 2 nights on a quaint boat sailing across the channels, we always set out with one goal in mind - to find the elusive blue pit viper and encounter as many dragons as possible. The days, hikes and snorkels usually reveal so so much more!
Our next expedition runs from 17 to 22 Sept!

We're about to go on expedition but here's a recap of home last month!
We guide almost every single day - morning, afternoon, night out in the forest, intertidal zones or anywhere with life actually. And if we aren't guiding, we're still out exploring and learning! April in Singapore was just amazing and we got to share so many memorable sightings with hundreds of participants and other members of the nature community! The month brought out our 22nd Sunda pangolin photographed in Singapore! (yes - our 22nd local pangolin) and many other notable intertidal finds like an alligator pipefish and blood-spotted swimmer crab!
We've got an Offshore Intertidal Walk coming up real soon this Saturday (23rd May 8AM to 12PM) so do check that out!

The Javan Tubercle Snake - also known affectionately as the Dragon Snake was one of our favourite herp finds in Borneo earlier this year! Easily one of the strangest snakes in Southeast Asia, covered in rough, keeled scales that give it a “dragon-like” appearance unlike almost any other snake in the world!
We've got 1 last spot on our herp-focused expedition to Sabah, Borneo from 31 May to 6 June!

Join us for a special predawn Community Walk at Changi Beach, where we explore the intertidal shore before sunrise and discover the nocturnal marine life that appears with the low tide.
From crabs and sea stars to anemones, snails, and other hidden coastal creatures, this Pay-As-You-Wish session is a chance to experience Singapore’s shores in a quieter, more magical way.
This walk is limited to 15 participants and is made possible by the continued support of the community. Please sign up only if you can confirm your attendance.

Here are 10 nudibranchs you must see in Singapore *without diving! Of course - after many many intertidal walks just because nudibranchs aren't common at all. Seeing one is always a treat for our participants and something worth celebrating for sure! 🎉

Did you know that 4 pitta species can be found in Singapore?
From the migrant flashes of the Blue-winged Pitta and Fairy Pitta, to the uncommon resident Mangrove Pitta and even the Western Hooded Pitta - each one a burst of vibrant colour hopping in the undergrowth! Singapore IS a pretty convenient place for birding!
We conduct multi-level birdwatching tours from beginner to even photography!

Here are 10 snakes you must see in Singapore!
Herping in Singapore can be pretty fun! One that rewards patience and persistence more than anything else. Beneath our city’s polished surface lies a hidden world of snakes, frogs, and geckos, tucked away in our swamp forests, reservoirs, and even urban green spaces. They are NOT dangerous!!!
Many snakes are shy, secretive, and completely uninterested in humans. In Singapore, the majority are non-venomous and play vital roles in keeping ecosystems balanced - controlling rodent and insect populations, dispersing seeds and even aerating soil as they burrow!
Join us for an informative herp-focused walk in Singapore!

Crazy scenes on Fraser’s Hill!
Being regulars on the hill, it is not often that we encounter something that gets us nervously shaking but that was what happened 3 nights back! Red-headed Kraits are always special but we never expected to see a mating pair! They were locked in for at least 6 hours and definitely one of our top moments - ever.
We’ve decided to put up more dates until the end of the year so do check em out!

The tiniest wonders of the intertidal zone ✨
On our recent intertidal walks in Singapore, we slowed things right down - really taking the time to scan, pause, and look at every small thing that moves. A slower pace usually results in revealing a hidden world FULL of miniature life!
We’ve got a couple of beautiful low tides coming up this April and May so do check out the dates on our website if you’d like to join us out there!

On our most memorable finds ever on Fraser’s Hill was this Malayan Tapir!
If you’ve been to Fraser’s Hill with us, you might recognise this stretch of road. Much has changed now but the chance of encountering spectacular remains the same! In recent trips, our expedition groups have seen Binturongs, Serows, Leopard Cats and loadsss of sub-montane birds and a host of snakes!
We run an expedition end of this month, do join us for that adventure!

Reptile Conservation Camp in Bali!
End October 2026 we run another reptile-focused expedition/camp in Bali featuring the majestic Sunda King Cobras!
We'll do several guided night walks (herping), habitat explorations where participants gain unique insight into Bali’s reptiles AND a unique chance to learn directly from experienced field operators who regularly work with snakes!
In far West Bali, King Cobras nest annually. Females are the only snakes known to build nests, using their bodies to gather leaf litter at the base of bamboo clumps (Bamboo Tali & Bamboo Petung).
During the nesting season in October, frequent encounters with farmers often lead to nest destruction. This camp supports BRR, which conducts King Cobra rescues and relocations while collecting critical nest data.

Currently on expedition in Uganda and we’ve been incredibly fortunate to encounter all our major targets from the Rhinoceros Viper to Eastern Chimpanzees and the powerful Mountain Gorillas and so so much more! The birdlife has been really amazing as well.
We might run another Uganda expedition next year, possibly with an optional extension to another Sub-Saharan African country, so stay tuned for that!
For now, we’re gearing up for Madagascar next month, followed by a big terrestrial expedition to Costa Rica in August (which we still have a few spots left!)
