Quando sono molto nervosa, ci sono tre cose che mi calmano: mettere ordine in casa, fare esercizio fisico e studiare. Sono riuscita a spostare cose che si trovavano in quel posto da almeno un decennio. Ho provato a fare esercizio fisico, ma la schiena mi faceva un male cane. Tuttavia, incredibilmente sono riuscita a studiare. Nei due mesi precedenti ero rimasta indietro con gli studi. Troppe cose vitali richiedevano attenzione. Il risultato è che sono riuscita a terminare il corso del dottor Cowan alla vigilia del mio matrimonio. When I am very nervous, there are three things that calm me down: putting order in my house, exercising and or studying. I managed to move things that have been in that place for at least a decade. Exercise I tried, but my back was hurting like hell. However, astonishingly i did manage to study. In the previous two months, I had fallen behind in my studies. Too many vital things were calling for attention. You can imagine how nervous I was as the civil union ceremony approached. My wife says I was hysterical. The result is I managed to finish Dr Cowan's course on the eve of the day I got married. Some people have hen's parties and appointments with beauticians or dress rehearsals; I had an appointment with the New Biology Course. Cowan and my wedding will, in one way, be forever linked. I am sure Dr Cowan would find this very amusing. So here you go, in honour of Jupiter in Gemini, where even academic angels fear to thread, another out of the ordinary certificate to nail to the study wall. Under the golden glow of the internet café lights, Venus, still lost in thought about her recent encounter with Jupiter in her lush land of Taurus, sits at a table in the vibrant land of Gemini. She stares absently-mindedly at the pollen floating around. She muses that just as the pollen was an indicator of the invisible wind currents, so her thoughts are being carried by an invisible stream of ideas popping around in seemingly disjointed patterns. As she sippes her coffee, wondering where her frantic contemplations would take her today, a waiter approaches and delivers a letter from Pluto haling from the cold distant land of Aquarius. Intrigued she quickly opens the envelope: "My dearest Venus, these crystals are powerful thought pattern generators. I forged them in the land of Wind and Ice. Use them with caution. They are tools of great value to discern the invisible strings that ripple in the mind's eye. May they make you stronger in your upcoming quest. " She looks in the envelope and finds five black gleaming crystals. Venus eagerly texts Pluto, "I too have a message for you. Jupiter says he is coming to talk to you soon. Her bare feet sink slightly into the warm soil as Venus walks luxuriously through the fields, delighting in every scent that comes her way. Jupiter looks at Venus with eyes full of wisdom, eyes that have seen many lands and stories. "My dear Queen, I accept with honour and devotion your gift. I add the gift of fruitfulness in all endeavours and a heart brimming with munificence." Venus links her arm around Jupiter's, and together, they start chanting a beautiful hymn that reverberates like a beating heart of creation through all the kingdom of Taurus. Neptune, from the land of Pisces, sends to the couple the gift of seeing beyond the veil and the crudeness of matter. Saturn sends the steadying power of commitment in every evolving circumstances. Venus watches as her kingdom shaking and screaming like a woman giving birth. The pain is unbearable. The pressure to change is killing her. She is breathless. Her breath comes heavy and laboured. Sweat drenches her dress. The long gestation is coming to an end. In the meantime, somewhere in her kingdom, not far away, a tired Jupiter ends a year-long adventure. He hands his sceptre to the Sun and kneels, awaiting a new decree. Change comes in waves, but the momentum that feeds the height of the waves comes from depths long forgotten. For a new life to begin, risks must be taken, membranes ruptured, and sweat and blood sacrificed to the Earth. Faith is not born in heroic acts. It is nurtured by daily acts of devotion.
