Qaloo RabbunAllahu: This is the foundation of Iman (faith) and Tawhid (monotheism). It means not just a casual verbal claim, but a sincere, heart-felt conviction that Allah is the only Creator, Sustainer, and the only one deserving of worship. "...and then remained steadfast Istiqamah...": This is the practical application of faith. It involves constantly adhering to Allah's obedience, strictly following His commands, and consistently avoiding His prohibitions throughout one's life, especially during times of trial and temptation. The Promise: The reward is twofold: the removal of future fear (of the grave, the Day of Judgment) and the absence of past grief (over worldly losses or missed opportunities). The Result: "Those are the companions of Paradise, abiding eternally therein as reward for what they used to do." Their success is a guaranteed, eternal khalideen, and just recompense jazaa for their consistent, righteous actions. Points to Ponder (Tadabbur)🍒 The Power of Consistency: The term Istiqamah emphasizes endurance over intensity. A small, consistent deed is more beloved to Allah than a massive effort that quickly fades. This teaches us to be marathon runners in faith, not sprinters. The Ultimate Peace: True, lasting security is defined here not by worldly wealth, but by the state of the soul in the Hereafter—no fear, no grief. This is the only state of absolute emotional and spiritual stability. The Test of Time: Istiqamah is tested most severely when trials strike (hardship) or when the world offers its greatest temptations (ease). Maintaining the same commitment to prayer and truth in both joy and difficulty is the essence of steadfastness. Action Points (Practical Steps) Strengthen Your Foundation: Regularly review the pillars of Tawhid. Challenge any subtle forms of {shirk} (e.g., seeking praise from people, excessive reliance on wealth or influence) and purify your intention (Niyyah) to be solely for Allah. Cultivate a Constant Habit: Choose one small, non-negotiable act of worship—perhaps reciting Ayatul Kursi after every prayer, or performing the Witr prayer nightly and commit to it to build true consistency. Find Righteous Company: Surround yourself with people who remind you of Allah and encourage Istiqamah. Good company acts as an anchor when your personal conviction wavers. Dua (Supplication) Since Istiqamah is the most difficult element, the best dua is to ask Allah for firmness on the path. Dua 🫰🦋 🤲 Meaning: "O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in all matters, and determination in what is right." So whoever has greater taqwā for Allah is nearer to Him and more honored in His sight. Therefore, do not take pride in your wealth, your beauty, your body, your children, your palaces, your cars, or anything from this worldly life at all. Rather, if Allah grants you success to have taqwā, then this is from the bounty of Allah upon you — so praise Allah for it. The saying of the Prophet ﷺ: ‘But He looks at your hearts’ — means that it is the hearts upon which everything depends. Always treat your heart — be in a constant state of cleansing it until it becomes pure. As Allah, the Almighty, said: ﴿ أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ أَنْ يُطَهِّرَ قُلُوبَهُمْ ﴾ “They are those whose hearts Allah did not wish to purify.” (Sūrah al-Mā’idah, 5:41) So purifying the heart is a matter of great importance.
