Every time I see protests around the world, they always amount to absolutely nothing, especially in countries where the population is relatively disarmed compared to their military — whether it’s the Dutch Farmer protests, the Freedom Convoy, or even the Sri Lankans against their establishment. When I see the futility of protests, it serves as a constant reminder of the wisdom from this quote (pictured) by Mao. I don’t even like Mao, and I don’t like communists at all, but he was absolutely right about this, and he proved it against a militarily stronger foe. When a disarmed population tries to use any kind of soft power against the establishment, it’s just another form of negotiating from a position of weakness. It usually fails. I’m NOT saying “armed revolution right now” is the answer, that would obviously be a fed post. What I’m saying is that all peaceful (disarmed) means of trying to get our countries back are probably doomed to failure in the current political climate. It’s not the 1930s...
