Subject: Urgent Security Vulnerability in Instagram - Immediate Action Required
Dear Instagram Security Team,
I am writing to report a critical security vulnerability in Instagram’s platform that poses a significant risk to user data and platform integrity. The vulnerability allows unauthorized access to accounts through specific manipulations of the security system, bypassing key protections. This issue could be exploited maliciously, leading to severe consequences for users and Instagram’s reputation.
Detailed Explanation of the Vulnerability:
1. Access the Security section and open Inspect in the browser.
2. Under Network, modify the request parameters by changing choice=1 to choice=6.
3. Return to the security section and resend the modified request.
4. The response includes user_submitted_contact_email. Using this email, the payload is adjusted by adding email=youremail.
5. A selfie code is then received. The back URL from the response is further manipulated by replacing the email field with your own.
6. Upon refreshing, this process circumvents the security page and grants unauthorized login access.
Immediate Risks:
• Exploitation of this vulnerability compromises account security.
• Unauthorized access can lead to data theft, impersonation, and privacy violations.
• The platform’s reputation is at risk if this vulnerability is exposed publicly.
