Let’s create meaningful work and live lives that matter. But first, learn to teach yourself what works for you. Not everything that works for someone else will work for you, and that’s okay. Do you remember how reading for two hours makes you look like a nerd from the outside? Reading from your phone makes you look addicted to it rather than a reader. Holding a book that looks like the Bible or Quran makes you appear religious or well-read, but perhaps you’re not even reading. Wearing AirPods makes people assume you’re listening to music, when you might be listening to a recitation or Mezmur. We are so quick to judge what we see, forgetting how little we actually know. The world sees appearances. You live the reality behind them. So, live in a way that works for you. Learn at your own pace. Build your own path. And please, please, don’t compare what you see with what you live. Not everything that looks meaningful is meaningful, and not everything meaningful needs to be seen.

The podcast is evolving into something great. Watched every episode, but this one hit close to home since I’m getting deep into AI & agents lately. Really appreciate what AddisAI is doing for the dev community & Ethiopia in general. We’re still behind in making AI work well for our local languages. We were never colonized, kept our languages, scripts & identity, and I deeply believe projects like this can bridge that gap. Really rooting for u guys to succeed. Not as the 1st rat hitting the trap 😁 but as the 2nd rat getting the cheese after others took the early risks. Hope AddisAI gets that cheese. U deserve it

Just checked the startup handbook and apparently I’m supposed to say: “OH SHIT, c4rd.biz just hit 10,000 users 🤯” Reality: not even close 😂 Back to building.

You aren’t behind. Maybe you’re just being redirected. A plan didn’t work. A door closed. Something you thought would last… didn’t. And yeah, it hurts. But maybe we don’t always need to understand why something ended before moving forward. Sometimes losing what you wanted makes room for something you didn’t even know you needed. Keep going. One day, the chapter that was difficult to close might be the one you’re most grateful you left behind.

A small example of what I meant in my previous post. Yesterday I saw someone looking for a developer. I knew someone whose skills matched, so I introduced him. At first, there was a concern that the client might want 8+ years of experience. I could have stopped there and decided on his behalf that he probably wouldn’t qualify. Instead, I sent his CV. Today I got a message back: “Great match. Will present him tonight.” Whether he gets the job or not isn’t even the point. The point is: don’t reject people on their behalf. Send the opportunity. Make the introduction. Share the information. Let them decide. Let the recruiter decide. Let the client decide. Sometimes all you need to do for someone is open a door you already have access to. This is the kind of network I want us to build.

The last photo I have standing on my own feet. I was 2. Shortly after this photo was taken, an accident changed my life forever. Almost 30 years later, I look at this little boy and think about everything he was still going to go through, survive, build and become. What a journey. ❤️

A little context behind this profile 😅 Fearless Soul ♞ The name doesn’t mean I’m someone who never feels fear. Fear is part of being human. For me, being fearless is about what you do despite it. The knight ♞ represents that mindset. Keep moving. Think before you move. Take the difficult path when you have to. That’s probably the part that explains Fearless Soul better than anything else. My confidence isn’t that nothing bad will happen. It’s knowing that whatever happens, Allah is with us. ♞
