MTA Board to Vote Thursday Whether to Hike Transit Fare

NEW YORK – Gov. Andrew Cuomo today joined the chorus of those calling on the MTA not to raise the bus and train fare when they have their meeting on Thursday. MTA board members are struggling with a painful choice on the $2.75 fare, which was last raised in 2015. The agency must close a $1 billion deficit while confronting the cause of that discrepancy — fewer riders are boarding trains and buses that are notoriously delayed. Sen. Felder Thanks NYC Agency for Correcting Confusing Parking Signs

NEW YORK - State Sen. Simcha Felder thanked the city’s Department of Transportation this morning for correcting a pair of confusing parking sign that led motorists to think they may park at a certain spot only to be ticketed because of the other sign. Felder issued a public call for the city to change the signage last week after a constituent told him about a Street Cleaning sign on 63rd Street between 15th and 16th avenues that says, “No Parking Wednesday, 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM,” with an arrow below pointing in both directions. All NYC Agencies to Help Uninsured Enroll in Health Insurance

NEW YORK - Mayor Bill de Blasio signed an executive order today requiring every New York City government agency to help residents enroll on a health insurance plan. The order, which is effective immediately, will provide information to every New Yorker who interacts with the city on affordable health insurance.
