Google Pixel 1/XL | Updates

Status of today's Pixel 1 community Hey there, it's been a while since I wrote an update post on this channel. It used to be something weekly in the past, which sum up all the stuff that happened over the past week into one single post. Nowadays, beside lacking updates, we also have other communities to operate and most importantly, life. Talking about life, we wished our Ukraine friends are all fine, and for everyone, stay safe in these pandemic days. Sometimes I am always wondering, why people's life can't be full of fun time & relaxation instead of just working? In our lifetime, there isn't a lot of fun time after all, as most of the time are spent at work to earn money, sigh... Anyway, back to Pixel topic. This community has been operated for more than a year with around 300 people for a long time. Out of these 300 people, half of them are probably inactive/dead accounts. Some of you that are in the community came here for fun which is always welcome, and rest of us are the people who really own the device. Pixel 1 is 5 and a half years old by now, we see more and more units are having their battery worsen, and it's hardly usable as a daily driver at this point. Many of us have already shifted to use a better device, but some are just being hardcore enough, continue using the 2016 flagship as their daily driver till now, I admired those people. I have a question in my mind for quite a while though, how many of you are still really using the device and find what we are posting on the channel useful? Anyway first ever official build of LineageOS 18.1 for this two devices, they will also be remove from the official servers after 4 weeks time. Although there will be pretty less changes made over the course, but as it's the first official build of LineageOS 18,1 for our devices, I guess it's memorable for us to have these kept accessible forever on this channel (though it may be quite useless, lol). #News #Pixel LineageOS 18.1 official revive the original Pixel & Pixel XL Gerrit Review Earlier we told you guys LineageOS 17.1 has been dropped which includes the Pixel & Pixel XL, and guess what's happening, the first generation Pixel & Pixel XL are revived by the LineageOS team, they are set to get LineageOS 18.1 official soon. Yeah, I know most people excitement have already shifted to Android 12, or even the Android 13, and Android 11 is more than a year old now. What I want to say is custom ROMs besides giving you the option to use newer Android version, it also extend security update which is a welcome addition, and here's what the team is trying to do for those old Pixels. The new maintainer for both the devices is @npjohnson, he has fixed IMS bug on Android 11 for Pixel after a year time, and that's the reason why first generation Pixel are stuck on 17.1 official for another year, but anyway here we are, 18.1 official for both Google Pixel & Pixel XL, enjoy if you own it.
