A critical flaw in Google’s Brotli decoder can corrupt memory and potentially enable remote code execution in software that decompresses attacker-controlled data. Microsoft released fixes for.NET, Visual Studio, and PowerShell on October 25, extending the patch effort beyond Node.js and Python. Updating a system-wide Brotli library may not fix applications that bundle their own decoder.
