Two people have been arrested on suspicion of damaging Stonehenge after orange paint was sprayed on the ancient monument on Wednesday, Wiltshire police said. Two Just Stop Oil protesters sprayed three stones of the 5,000-year-old monument with orange paint from canisters at about 11am, then sat down cross-legged in front of the stones. The protesters are demanding that the new UK government commits to working with other governments to agree an equitable plan to end the extraction and burning of oil, gas and coal by 2030.
