Looking for a qualified domestic partner aka girlfriend to sponsor her a visa to UK and live together lol
Please send ur resumes down in the chat
300+ applications, 10 OAs, 4 phone calls, 3 onsites, 1 offer + 1 more to go
The funniest thing is that out of all 300+ companies I’ve applied to, only the best ones got back to me. Meta, Google, TikTok, Palantir.
So happy, I didn’t settle for less last summer, took a risk and now it is starting to pay off.
Also thanks to all the companies that rejected me, your rejections opened path for Meta and Google🤭
Трамп Трампом, but the influence of him becoming President is crazy on the stocks.
>$3000(6-7% increase) gain in a span of 2 days

Most important post - my feelings. 🕺
I feel like my life is going pretty well and that I’m super calm. Yeah I may not have a job right now, may be living out of my financial cushion, and things may get even worse.
🤔🤔 🤔
But, I believe that I am making the right decision along the way and walking towards my goals. Deciding towards coming to the most expensive state, without a job offer, while spending money on my tuition here rather than accepting job offer in Dubai and just starting my career in a familiar place with close friends, isn’t the easiest choice to make. I am taking a risk, but thanks God, I have an amazing brother who is here to support me, fabulous friends to keep me alive, new connections that make me feel real, and most importantly self-dedication?
I know that if I let myself to go crazy and stress out, I may get so anxious that I’ll just drop everything right away. But, for some reason I just don’t.
💪🍔😴
I started gymming almost daily(5-6 times a week), I eat good(though I wish I ate more), I work on what I believe in, I explore new opportunities, I make new friends, I have a good sleeping schedule and do not procrastinate(still gotta get rid of browsing reels before bed)
🤓🚊🌉
For those who don’t know(prolly like 99% of y’all) I live in the Bay Area which is a bit far from SF if you don’t have a car. But I feel much more alive in SF. So I visit it bout 3 times a week. Each visit is a 1.5 hour one way, so 3 hours total. One may think that it’s just a waste of time, but those hourly train rides allow me to just be with inner self. I have resumed reading thanks for those train rides. I am more disciplined, since I need to plan ahead in order to fit everything in a single day. And once I’m in SF, I don’t have time to waste.
😎🫂🏠
I was just walking today towards coworking place at SF(thanks a lot to @eyessemas) and seeing the sun, the people, the roads and the building made me feel so alive. BTW ALSO IM SO IN LOVE WITH KAZAKHSTAN NOW, well mostly with Kazakh music and language. Here I speak Kazakh much more than I did in my last 4 years, and those Kazakh songs hit different here.
🥰😎😜
I’m grateful that I can feel love, emotions, happiness, and passion. I’ve started less projecting/expecting smth from people, cuz once you stop expecting anything from people and just living in reality life becomes much easier. Like you mostly get disappointed in people when you expect something from them, when they don’t live up to the image you thought they are, but instead of having those expactions just live in reality. Don’t base you mood based on expectations on other peeps.
I’m happy I’m not a robot!

What’s next? TechCrunch - the biggest Startup event in the world!👨💻
Well, honestly I was expecting a bit more from it xd. Thought to spot the next unicorn or a project that will disrupt the whole world(that’s why it’s called TechCrunch DISRUPT!)
3 day event, where I mostly visited just to hang out with friends, support Kazakh startups, and just see if there’s any idea to steal🥷
Didn’t find anything fun, but got an amazing video of me looking like a V.I.P, all thanks to @danelyabay!
During these few days got to meet General Consulate of Kazakhstan in USA’s family and hang out with them! I’m amazed by how down to earth the gen. council is and how pro active she is. Just like @alnurchique shared, she showed me that there is hope for “Zhana Kazakhstan” and that even we can help. It was nice to just chitchat with her bout life, startups, Kazakhstan and just life in the USA.

Next one on the agenda: Halloweeeeeeen🎃🎃🎃
My first ever real Halloween celebration.
Guys, it was AMAZING! Well, 9/10 cuz we weren’t able to make it to a club due to hundreds of people waiting in the queue.
I got to wear a ninja costume, finally years of working out paid off(jk jk, I work out for myself🤪)
But just seeing so many people wearing costumes, being silly, and having fun made me feel so reealllll! Especially, after few of my friends weren’t so eager to go and dress up😔
Got to dance, do shots, and just vibe. All these in a group of my lovely friends who are so freaking fun and smart!!!
I guess, I was so happy bout this event cuz I’m just starting to feel alive again, enjoying every moment of my life and just going with the flow.
Rate my costume😇

The last 2 weekends were crazy
First and foremost, the Central Eurasia @ Silicon Valley Summit. My first big and awaited event. Turned out to be much more exciting than I thought.
Honestly, my pure purpose of going there was to talk to my friends and see what’s on the startup market.
Honestly, the event made me feel like a celebrity. I knew every other Kazakh that was there. I may not be launching my own startup or working somewhere at the moment but just being able to have a small talk with my friends, catch up with their ideas and introduce friends to each other felt like a blessing. The whole 8 hours I was talking & talking. My friends were trying to grab me away to go home, but every time I was stumbled upon a friend of mine! To make it even better, got to take a picture with the CEO of Coursera!
Regarding the startup presentation, wasn’t a big fun of it. Honestly, I was expecting something more. Most of the startups felt way too small, or like if I gather my friends we will be able to launch it in a matter of weeks.
Another memorable part was the last unicorn battle, got to see 10 startups pitch their products and ask for funding. A startup that helps prevent pet diseases ahead got the first place! Yay pets!🐶
Finished the day with a dinner at Cheesecake Factory with a 4 different group of my friends! Felt good to just relax and talk bout some non-career related stuff, even though we ended up talking bout projects anyway.
Oh, I remember now, the reason why I felt like a celebrity, cuz absolutely random people came up to me few times and told me that they recognize me!🎉 some of them are from this channel, few of them were my teachers at high school🤣. Anyway it felt great to be known far away from home and uni, I should do this more often

My first ever puzzle statue, gratitude to @karishev
For the last minute I was so confused on why do I have extra parts left😭 I was panicking so bad. I guess they just provide extra parts, but it’s still scary, what do I do with those parts now?
I just had an interview for a Research Assistant position at NYUAD. The prof said “prepare a 10 min research talk about some research you have done or a capstone”. Those who know me know that I’m not a research guy, all I do is code.
So during the interview she told me that I can share my screen and show the presentation. I panicked and turned off my laptop. Emailed her saying that the electricity got cut off.
So, I joined the zoom through phone and proceeded to just talk through my capstone project(which was just App creation, not research). She asked if I can send a presentation so she can follow along, I said “No”.
I’ve never had such an embarrassment in my life. This is the prof I personally know and I’ve been asking to hire me for the RA position. But I thought that if I just code instead of doing research that would be fine. Apparently that’s not fine😭😭😭
Prolly will not get a call back from her. At least, I’m proud of myself not ditching the prof and connecting back to the interview

- написал все эссешки для одной программы которую подаюсь(hopefully will post bout it next year with positive results)
- constant gym routine, 30 day streak on the GymBros app
- took the blood tests, need more exposure of sun
- сходил к ортопеду, самый большой провал. Вроде чувак популярный в инсте и много где проходил практику, но вообще полный ноль. Не мог нормально дискуссировать со мной, и единственное что мог сказать «ну делай операцию»
Still have lots to do, the job is not done yet
When a Black Cat Crosses Your Path
Back in April, a black cat crossed my path—literally. Many of you have likely heard me lament the series of unfortunate events that followed. For those who haven’t, let me share the tale.
The month started with high hopes as I awaited news regarding my H1-B visa application. My dream was to work in Silicon Valley, and everything hinged on this. However, on April 4th, I received the crushing email: I hadn't been selected. Devastated, I hadn't applied elsewhere, putting all my eggs in one basket.
The very next day, while playing football, I tore my ACL—an injury I only discovered after spending over three hours at the clinic the following morning. This was more than just a physical setback; it was a mental battle. Sports are a vital part of my life, and the thought of a potentially permanent limitation was unbearable. I would gladly pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to avoid the long-term consequences of this injury.
This setback marked the beginning of a series of rejections. In the weeks that followed, I applied for positions in Europe, London, and the UAE, but opportunities were scarce. By May, a glimmer of hope appeared when Meta announced openings, and I reached the final stage. After waiting 4-6 weeks, hope turned to dismay with another rejection—they had capped their hiring for new grads until the next year.
Simultaneously, a Research Assistant position I applied for slipped through my fingers due to missed deadlines—focused as I was on Meta, the professor saw this as a red flag. My interviewing streak continued with TikTok in Dubai, but again, rejection met me. My interviewer, expecting me to solve two complex tasks in 25 minutes, deemed me unprepared.
Then, a trading company in Dubai brought me to the final interview stage, only to reject me over cultural fit—a puzzling outcome, as I thought I had connected well. This process took six grueling weeks.
To compound matters, my attempts to defer mandatory military service in Kazakhstan were rejected three times, leaving me vulnerable to being drafted at any moment. Despite demonstrating my impending master’s studies, which should have exempted me, my applications were inexplicably denied.
Amid these tribulations, my last beacon of hope was an MBA program in California. I was accepted and needed to secure an F-1 visa. Initially waived from the interview, I was later required to attend. At the consulate, anxiety gripped me as I watched one of the visa officers rapidly reject applicant after applicant. Luckily, due to a twist of fate involving a line-cutter who forgot his photo, I was assigned to a more amiable officer. After a ten-minute conversation where I explained my situation and aspirations, I finally heard the words that lifted the curse: “Your visa is approved!”
These past five months have been a whirlwind of uncertainty and rejection, leading me to question my life choices. Yet, beneath it all, I maintained a hopeful spirit, continually setting new goals and pursuing them with resilience.
On a brighter note, my ACL is holding up fine without surgery. I remain optimistic about future advancements in technology that might allow for complete restoration without further complications.
The moral of my story? Life may trip you up in every conceivable way, but with self-belief and perseverance, you will ultimately thrive.
California, I’m coming back—and this time, it’s going to be golden!🌉
