"The first foreign visit I would make as Labour leader would be to Israel."
A 2015 video of Andy Burnham has resurfaced online and is attracting renewed scrutiny as the Greater Manchester mayor eyes a future bid for Downing Street.
In the clip, filmed during the Labour leadership contest, Burnham names Israel as the first country he would visit if elected party leader.

"Trump's U-turn on Iran war has ended Israel's Middle East dream" - David Hearst (Summary)
The Iran war is one of the most consequential military failures the US has suffered in the Middle East over the past 25 years. Unlike Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Libya or Syria, Iran did not merely survive another attempt to force regime change; it emerged with its regional position strengthened. The failure to subdue Iran has shattered the wider ambition of reshaping the Middle East around a rejuvenated “greater Israel,” an ambition that was central to the Abraham Accords and later pursued through war when Saudi Arabia refused to fully join that project.
Trump’s decision to step back from the war was a disaster for Netanyahu. Rising energy costs, domestic political pressure, Gulf economic disruption, falling approval ratings and looming midterm elections all pushed Trump to look for an exit once it became clear Iran would not collapse quickly. For Israel, this exposed a dangerous new reality: its closest ally was no longer willing to bankroll Netanyahu’s regional vision without limit. Israeli officials and commentators reacted with fury, while Trump publicly reminded them that without US backing, Israel would be in serious danger.
Iran has emerged from the conflict as a major regional power. It retains its nuclear knowledge, its enrichment programme, its missile deterrent and strengthened ties with allies across Lebanon, Palestine and the wider region. The war also shook the Gulf states, exposing the weakness of their dependence on US protection and reminding them that their economies remain vulnerable to Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz. Qatar and Oman may have fared better through mediation, but across the Gulf, the same strategic anxiety remains: who can guarantee their security now?
The danger is that Netanyahu, wounded by failure against Iran, will turn even more aggressively towards Gaza and the Palestinians to compensate for his loss of regional power. But Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran are not going to disarm, and Gaza has shown that its social fabric can withstand even the most extreme pressure. Any renewed Israeli escalation will intensify global outrage and deepen Israel’s isolation. The Middle East has changed, but not in the way Netanyahu hoped: Iran and the spirit of resistance have gained strength, while Israel’s project of endless war and expansion is approaching the limits of its power.

Repost from Stand 4 Palestine ⭕ BREAKING NEWS
⭕ ➡️ Early yesterday morning, the IRGC shot down a U.S. Army AH-64 Apache helicopter over the Omani side of the Strait of Hormuz with what is believed to be an Iranian 358-missile SA-67 surface-to-air missile/drone.
➡️ In response, the U.S. launched widespread attacks against southern Iran, striking Qeshm Island (10+), Sirik (7+, 2 of which struck vital civilian water tanks), Jask (4+), Mount Mobarakeh in Jask, and possibly Zahedan Air Base (TAB-16 / Forward Operating Hub) in Zahedan.
➡️ During the attacks, the IRGC shot down a U.S. Air Force MQ-9 Reaper reconnaissance drone over Jam City, Bushehr Province, southern Iran.
➡️ In response to the strikes on their territory, Iran launched at least 12 ballistic missiles from Khomeyn (6, one of which failed), Aligudarz (2), Isfahan (2), and more areas of Iran towards Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan (5) and the U.S. Fifth Fleet Base in Bahrain (6, along with at least 1 impact), along with multiple drones towards the Fifth Fleet HQ and Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.
➡️ Iranian media says "a new type of drone" was used during the attacks on Bahrain; the exact details of the drone are currently unknown.
➡️ Earlier this morning, U.S. President Donald Trump threatened that Iran has taken too long to negotiate and "now they will have to pay the price."

Repost from Stand 4 Palestine ⭕ BREAKING NEWS
⭕ Hebrew media outlets have revealed that another infiltration attempt was made last night at 11:45pm local time, which Zionist authorities chose not to disclose publicly.
⭕ Media outlets are now questioning whether Hezbollah is attempting to carry out attacks on Zionist settlements.
✍️ These incidents indicate a new strategy from Hezbollah, which will rock the Zionist population. The northern occupied territories are already significantly shaken, with many houses emptied, settlers displaced and living in hotels, and now facing the threat of fighters crossing the border.
This will likely also lead to further hunger for war among the Zionist population, and give Netanyahu and the war-hawks surrounding him impetus to attack the Dahiyeh once again.
