Good Evening Fluffs! The next Brumfurs monthly meet will be this Saturday, 21st September! We're expecting a fairly busy meet this month since last month we had to cancel due to the far right protests. Please remember the venue only allows sealed water to be brought in and not opened inside the venue, no exceptions. This has always been the venue's rule. We caught a few attendees sneaking in alcohol last meet which is not acceptable - this has the potential to harm our relationship with the venue who kindly host us for free. The pre-meet starts at 11 AM outside the Bull statue - please note this may be weather dependent save our attendees waiting in the rain and we're expecting a wet one this weekend, so keep an eye on the Brumfurs Announcement channel. Please do not leave the pre-meet early so we can maintain strength in numbers, and staff can watch out for everyone! Please note, fursuits or head coverings are NOT allowed to be worn in or outside the Bullring or the Grand Central Station. The bar officially opens its doors after 12:00 PM. The fursuit lounge will be open as soon as staff have set up. Weather permitting we will hold a walk starting at 3:00 PM to the hippodrome, weather dependent. The meet officially ends at around 6PM, although this may be subject to change, so again, please keep an eye on the announcements channel. If you are new to the meet, our Newbie Rep for this meet is @RufeManeyWuff. look out for his badge and staff lanyard. All staff members wear bright staff lanyards and hi-vis jackets on the walk, and there will almost always be a staff member stationed at the Artist Alley. We are now at the end of summer, so the weather likely will be changeable- please make sure to drink plenty of water (beer doesn't count!) And know your limits, especially if you're planning on fursuiting. If you encounter any issue during the meet, please notify a staff member IMMEDIATELY while they are on duty, on the day, NOT after! We will be off duty at this point, and may not be able to help. The kitchen is now open! This does now mean that snacks except for water and a few exceptions noted previously, food is not permitted inside the venue. If in doubt, ask a staff member. Please keep an eye on valuables at all times, folks, as neither the bar or Brumfurs can take responsibility for lost or stolen items. Any lost property must be taken to Gops at the Artist Alley. Finally, We must emphasise how important it is to keep the path outside the venue clear at ALL TIMES!- not just for fursuiters, but those out of fursuit and photographers. We are please to announce that after 4 years, the Sidewalk kitchen is back in business! This means that hot food is now available at the bar. This also means that we're updating our policy. Outside food is no longer allowed in the venue. If you are diabetic we will allow you to bring in up to 2 small sugary snacks, such as a chocolate bar. You are still welcome to eat outside the venue, just please do not cross the fenced area with your food items. Thank you and happy feasting.

The BrumFurs team have received news that Dragoneer, founder of FurAffinity, passed away this morning. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

August Meet Cancellation Dear all attendees, Following further information regarding the recent riots, we have now made the unfortunate decision to cancel the meet this month. Please understand this is not a decision we take lightly, as we value our community and love hosting these wonderful events. However, the safety of all our attendees must remain our No. 1 priority. Whilst we will endeavour to try and organise a later August meet, this will be subject to the safety of our area. Rest assured, we will back in September if not sooner. As a replacement for August meet, we are also considering creating an online event space via our Discord server, allowing you to socialise and engage with fellow attendees in the online realm. Brief safety announcement: We have been made aware of far right protests happening on Saturday 17th of August that will coincide with the Birmingham Furs meet up. As part of our duty to keep everybody safe we have implemented the following changes to help better protect our community: 1) Pre meet will be moved. This is to avoid any conflict with any far right gatherings near our usual location.We also suggest attendees please head directly to the venue if possible. 2) We ask all attendees to keep furry attire to a minimum avoiding wearing anything outside of the venue. This is to avoid any potential attendees being targeted. 3) Anybody who feels they may be targeted by far-right protesters, please consider your own safety regarding attending the meet. We advise staying away from the town centre, travelling with friends and using a taxi to get directly to the venue. 4) We have decided to cancel the fursuit walk, as we are unable to fully predict the nature and locations of these protests. We thank you for your patience and ask that you advise other attendees of this announcement. We also advise checking daily here for any updates as information will change as we learn more.

Good Morning Fluffs! We hope you all enjoyed our July last week. Thank you to all our walk volunteers and special thanks to our resident DJ Latte! Unfortunately we did have a few issues, especially in regards to mess, specifically an attendee leaving a pile of sticker backings for us staff team to clean up after them.
