Happy Friday, everyone! 🎉 The response to the Copy Trader beta has been overwhelming. Thank you! 🙏 I really appreciate everyone who reached out wanting to help test it. To be clear on what this round is: it's a small testing group, there to put the Copy Trader through its paces and make it better before a wider release. I'm not able to set everyone up right now. But everyone will get to use it, and soon. 🚀 📩 This weekend I'll be sending keys, the Copy Trader file and setup instructions individually to those selected for this first round, starting with those who responded first. Keep an eye on your messages. 🛠 Pre-work if you want to get ready: Download MetaTrader 4 (MT4) from your broker. It needs to be MT4, not MT5. Install it on a Windows computer, or a VPS, that can stay on while it trades. Log in to the account you plan to use. A demo account is perfect for testing. Pick that account carefully: each key locks to one MT4 account. 📺 If you missed it, go back and watch yesterday's webinar on the scanner and the changes we've made. There's a lot in there. ☀️ Happy Thursday, everyone! Hope you're all having a fantastic day. 🙌 Scanner update: Trades are holding steady for another day — nothing dramatic, which is exactly what we want. 📊 New COT report drops tomorrow night, and I'd bet money it shifts a good number of our open signals when we come back Sunday. Keep an eye out. Also — I've been traveling and prepping to travel, so I'm playing catch-up on emails and texts. If you've reached out in the last couple of days, I'm working through every single one of you. Thanks for being patient with me. 🙏 🏦 LET'S TALK PROP FIRMS — please read this one I keep seeing the same mistake, and it costs people real money. So here it is plain. Stop shopping for the cheapest challenge. 💸 A discount code on a bad firm is not a deal. The fee is the smallest number in this whole equation. Two things actually matter: 1️⃣ Pick a firm that actually pays There are a LOT of prop firms. There are not a lot of good ones. My short list: FTMO The5%ers Funded Trading Plus These have staying power and a track record of actually paying traders. Start there. 2️⃣ Pick the RIGHT challenge — this is where people get burned ⚠️ Every one of these firms has a dozen-plus challenge options. It is not one-size-fits-all, and I honestly think some of them make it confusing on purpose. For trading Steve's Scanner, here's what you need: 🔹 FTMO — 2-Step Challenge, SWING account. Not the standard account. The Swing account. 🚫 MY RULE: TWO-STEP ONLY. ALWAYS. I don't promote instant funding, and I don't promote one-step challenges either. Not ever. I know the pitch is tempting — one phase, get funded faster, less work. But the firms pay for that convenience by degrading the rules on the back end, and you're the one who lives with those rules for the life of the account. Case in point at FTMO: on the 1-Step, the Best Day consistency rule applies in both the evaluation and the funded phase — and the Swing account isn't even available on the 1-Step. So the very thing our strategy requires doesn't exist on that product. 🤷‍♂️ Yes, the 2-Step is more work. You have to show more trading prowess over more time. That's the point. You earn a cleaner rule set, and the rule set is what you live in for months and years after the challenge is a distant memory. Do the extra work. Get the better rules. 💪 📌 WHY SWING vs STANDARD MATTERS (the trap) Here's the part that catches people, and it's sneaky: During the Challenge and Verification phases, FTMO has NO news restrictions and NO weekend-holding restrictions — on either account type. So you pass with a Standard account, everything feels fine, you think you're golden. ✅ Then you get funded — and the rules change. 😬 Standard (funded) account, you must: Close positions before the weekend Close positions before ANY market break longer than 2 hours Stay out of the market from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after flagged high-impact news — and that includes your stop loss or take profit triggering inside that window Swing (funded) account: ✅ No news restrictions ✅ Hold overnight ✅ Hold through the weekend Our scanner holds through news and holds over weekends. That is the strategy. On a Standard account you are structurally set up to violate the rules — and you find out on payout day, which is the worst possible day to find out. That's the egg-on-your-face situation I want every one of you to avoid. 🥚 ⚙️ THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BUY Swing is ONLY available on the 2-Step Challenge. One more reason we go 2-Step. You cannot upgrade to Swing after you buy. Get it right at checkout. You can drop from Swing to Standard later, but not the other way. Leverage is lower on Swing — up to 1:30 vs 1:100 on Standard. This is the real trade-off, and it's fine. Just know your position sizing math changes. Plan for it before you start. 2-Step targets: 10% Step 1, 5% Step 2. Max daily loss 5%, max total loss 10%, minimum 4 trading days per phase. Best Day Rule: your single best day can't be more than 50% of the total profit from your winning days. Good news — this is a payout gate, not an account breach. Your payout gets held until you even it out, not cancelled. Just don't swing for the fences on one trade. Trade your own account. FTMO's terms are personal-use only. Take the signals, do your own sizing, manage your own trades, make your own decisions. Don't hand your login to anybody and don't run auto-copiers off a shared master account. Other two firms: The5%ers allows weekend holding across their accounts with no special swing account needed — but confirm their news policy separately, holding over a weekend and holding through a release are two different permissions. Funded Trading Plus allows news trading and weekend holding on their 2-Step (Classic) — not on Instant Funding, where everything closes 4:30pm EST Friday. Same rule applies there: go 2-Step. 💡 Bottom line: before you click buy, ask three questions — is it a two-step? Can I hold through news? Can I hold over the weekend? If any answer is no, it's the wrong account for this strategy, no matter how good the price is. Rules change, so always read the current terms on the firm's own site before you purchase. And if you're not sure which one to grab, ask me before you buy, not after. I'd much rather spend two minutes with you now than watch a payout get held up later. 🤝 Let's finish the week strong! 💪
