🚨🚨🎙️| Erik ten Hag: “We have certain positions where we have a lack of quality, and that can’t be if you want to compete for the highest trophies.”

Rival Watch: Arsenal have just dropped 2 points in the league after their 1-1 draw to Brentford.

Ten Hag: “We want to restore #mufc to winning trophies. We work hard for it, and we have to keep doing that.” [Sky Sports]

Ten Hag: “On the pitch it’s 11 against 11 – you have to focus on that. When you show the personality as an individual, when you have the right team spirit, it’s the same [playing] home or away.” [Sky Sports]

Ten Hag: “He [Sancho] worked hard on himself and now he is back, and now he has to find himself back in the team and has to go step by step. He has come from the bench, so I hope he can make the next steps.” [Sky Sports]

Ten Hag: “He [Sancho] is growing. He is definitely in a better place than two or three months ago, when he was away from the team – I think it was the right decision.” [Sky Sports]

Ten Hag: “In this moment he [Rashford] is in such a flow, he brings it every game on the pitch. So, if he has that energy, those levels, he will score goals, and the only thing the team has to do is bring him into that position.” [Ten Hag]

Ten Hag: “Unbelievable focus in this moment. He’s [Rashford] aware that if he’s making the right movements, he or his team will be in the right position to score goals, then it’s about scoring the goals.” [Sky Sports]

Ten Hag: “Players like to play big games like Leeds, big games coming up like Barcelona, other games like [Man] City, Arsenal. I think all the Premier League games; players like it, to have a challenge, because when they get challenged, they get the best.” [Sky Sports]

Ten Hag: “You need players who take responsibility. You need the right characters in the dressing room, so that in the moment they step on the pitch they know what is going on and they make the right decisions.” [Sky Sports]

Ten Hag: “I see the team is growing, I see it is about the culture of hard to beat, win games, do that the #mufc way – in togetherness, in an attacking and proactive way.” [Sky Sports]

Ten Hag: “I feel really connected with this team, with this squad, it’s so United. Also, with the culture of #mufc, I feel really connected with that.” [Sky Sports]

Ten Hag: “I think the structure [of European football] is good, but there will always be initiatives to make it better. To make the football better and that is what life is. People will always want to construct better. If it is in favour of the football it is always good.”

Ten Hag: “I need all my energy about new European competitions and all the people at this club will have a look at it and will inform me if the time is there. If the moment is there we have to make decisions and decisions are up to the club.”

Ten Hag on reports of a new European Super League: “If they are coming up with new ideas, I have to take a look at it and then I will make an opinion. I am not aware as we are playing so many games at this moment and we have to develop this team. That is where my focus point is.”

Ten Hag: “The team is always above everything and he accepts that. I think when he is coming off that emotion, the frustration is not off that he is not accepting it.”

Ten Hag: “I think that is a good thing. He is totally convinced about himself, that’s a good thing. You need that under the biggest stress factors that you have to perform, and he is doing [that]. He is contributing to the end but he accepts the decision.”

Ten Hag on whether Alejandro Garnacho needs to calm down when being subbed: “I don’t think it’s that he doesn’t understand the decision. He’s quite emotional, that’s his strength that he’s bringing in the game. He wants to win, play football and doesn’t want to miss any minutes.”
