Duskfallen

i only ever saw a moth once in my whole life i was too scared to get close to it so i called my dad over but he was angry and didnt even know what kind of insect it was so he tried to kill it but it escaped i cried because there was something peaceful about it to me it was such a beautiful creature and it was huge almost the size of my palm later i saw it again on the clothesline but this time i called my mom she was kind and she knew exactly what kind of moth it was she tied a tiny string around it and tied the other end around my wrist and i remember being so amazed so happy just watching it when night came and before my dad got home from work i would hide it in a small black bag and poke holes in it so he wouldnt see it and kill it but that same day a pigeon attacked the moth and they flew away i was devastated i went to school exhausted and heartbroken and i cried so much it was beautiful like the sun i just wish i had more memories of it i wish i had more pictures i wish i could see it one more time
