The poet Judah Leib Gordon coined the slogan: 'Be a jew in your tent, and a human being in the street'. Before Mendelssohn, jewish identity was defined strictly by Torah, Talmud, and religious law. If you stopped believing or stopped practicing, you were no longer part of the community. Their restructure of judaism into a culture created the 'secular jew'. They initially wanted jewish integration into broader European civil society. Ultimately, this actually laid the groundwork for Marxism and Zionism to develop. - Islam is not tribal and its foundation is Tawheed (the absolute oneness, uniqueness, and indivisibility of God). It cannot be corrupted, made into a 'culture', or secularised. They don't get it and they don't like it.

By 1940 fewer than 500 churches remained (a 98.3% total destruction rate). - Soviet records confirm that during the height of the Great Purge in 1937 alone, more than 85,000 Orthodox priests were executed by firing squads. - 422 Catholic priests were executed murdered or tortured to death, along with 962 monks, nuns and laypeople, while all but two of the Catholic Church's 1,240 places of worship in Russia were forcibly turned into shops, warehouses, farm buildings and public toilets. So when *some* (not all) Leftists expose their hatred of Islam or religion— no one should be surprised.
