Average Daniel Haqiqatjou show: First two hours of the show are on the 'Compassionate Imams'. The third is on the Wahhabis. Then a special fourth hour is on Syria and how Ahmad Sharaa has created a soft Wahhabi-'Compassionate Imam' alliance in Damascus. Does it make sense? No. Does DH's 'evolution' in the last decade make sense? Not really, but thousands of people still watch his nonsense, much of which is (surprise!) ghost-written material. If you're still watching hours long shows with speakers who are unqualified contrarians posing as learned du'at cum political analysts, good luck with your future.

The first article, written by Sh. Idris Nawaz, can be read here: https://www.miftaah.org/journal/read-before-we-forget-how

This summer, set the bar high, take this as an inspiration, and try to read at least 40-50 pages a day. Do it consistently and you will find that it will become easier over time.

When taken to its logical conclusion, al-Kawthari's haphazard censuring of anyone in the anti-Abu Hanifah camp destablizes the entire enterprise of hadith. Al-Mu'allimi rejects the use of al-Kawthari's heavy-handed approach, as dismissing such reporters is a serious matter and has repercussions for the field of hadith as a whole. Many of these narrators are the primary sources for many foundational hadiths, and disparaging them could potentially invalidate the authority of countless hadiths that are deemed normative and authoritative in the Sunni tradition. Al-Kawthari's intentions may be noble, but as al-Mu'allimi's argument demonstrates, the former does not pay sufficient heed to the precautions and safeguards expected before critiquing narrators and evaluators, individuals who made the enterprise of hadith possible in the first place in both theory and practice. Such an extreme critical approach destabilizes the field, and provides easy ammunition for hadith rejectors who seek to poke holes in the science's foundations. The irony is that al-Kawthari's method inadvertently destroys the foundations of the field it purports to build off of.

Shaykh al-Mu'allimi's al-Tankil - written against Shaykh Zahid al-Kawthari - is perhaps one of the greatest books written in the contemporary age, period. One early reflection on the book is the following: An impressive finding about al-Mu'allimi's book is how he professionally sets up his argument against Shaykh Zahid al-Kawthari, his interlocutor. Al-Mu'allimi's foundational argument against al-Kawthari is that the latter takes a "scorched earth policy" to defend Imam Abu Hanifah, with al-Kawthari liberally censuring any reporter or evaluator who levels criticisms against the Imam. Al-Mu'allimi's contention is that al-Kawthari's approach has dangerous long-term implications. Al-Kawthari does not mince words against any reporter who criticizes Abu Hanifah, even going as far as questioning their reliability by bringing up (often questionable) reports about their moral probity.

A word of advice to those who hope to teach one day Shaykh Dr. al-Bashīr ʿIṣām al-Murrākushī (ḥ) says: ❝One of the mistakes made by some who step forward to teach the Islamic sciences is this: A person studies a text, masters it, and then assumes that he is able to teach it. The correct approach is that you cannot teach a text unless you have mastered what lies above it, even if only by one level. For example, if you have mastered Shudhūr al-Dhahab, you may then be able to teach al-Ājurrūmiyyah. This is because you need to be able to elaborate when needed, answer the objections that arise in students’ minds, clarify what needs to be specified or qualified, and deal with other matters of that nature.❞
Manār al-Ṭarīq fī Ṭalab al-ʿIlm wa Manāhijihi, p. 142.
Keep this in mind before you stand in front of students. It will help you before anyone else, and it will make you a better teacher, InshāʾAllāh. Some may read this and think it is obvious. But as always, you would be surprised how often the obvious is missed.

One of the ugliest things I have seen online Muslim personalities adopt is this… when they are discussing or refuting someone they have fallen out with, they depict the other person with the ugliest possible face as the thumbnail. They make the eyes look sinister, add an evil smile, or edit the face so realistically that you would think it was real. This is not befitting even against a disbeliever, let alone a fellow Muslim. Exceptions do not make the rule, so do not rush to hide behind them. You would sit there and edit a man’s face to look evil? You would do that if the Prophet ﷺ were next to you? You would genuinely think that would make him happy and proud of you? You are so passionate about the Sunnah… but where is basic decency? Your murūʾah? فليبلغ الشاهد منكم الغائب Send this to whoever needs to hear it… or summarise the message to them. It is no longer “lost Islamic history”. It is “lost Islamic decency”. Reclaim your dignity, otherwise remove yourself from these circles. The dīn deserves better defenders than us.
