🧐 In my professional practice, I frequently turn to the textbook «English for Business Communication» by Cambridge as a valuable resource. This concise course is tailored for individuals who are currently working or preparing to enter the workforce and need to enhance their English language skills in critical areas such as social interaction, telephone communication, presentations, meetings, and negotiations. The modular structure of this textbook allows for seamless integration into any teaching programme. As the title suggests, the primary focus is on developing speaking skills within the context of everyday interactions with customers, clients, and suppliers. Additionally, the course places significant emphasis on enhancing listening abilities. Integrated writing tasks are incorporated where appropriate, and reading materials take the form of informative texts on business communication skills and typical business documents. 💡💡💡 Sooooo Today I’m sharing some materials for this one for both LEARNERS AND TEACHERS. If you need the book itself +audio etc. - text me! ✅ Quizlet link to practice the words, two formats “Eng-Rus” and “Eng-Eng” (if you are a learner and have a free account, join the course first to have access to all tools). https://quizlet.com/join/TUf3YmP8V?i=29y018&x=1bqtWord definition papers (with answers) https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1J0AlPBIexcEluFpoJvTlBM6yogZTAP9Y?usp=sharing ✅ Some of my “Wordwall” cards for practice. https://wordwall.net/play/19251/019/731 https://wordwall.net/resource/19251019 https://wordwall.net/resource/58290714 https://wordwall.net/resource/29153377 https://wordwall.net/resource/29415029 https://wordwall.net/resource/52085375 https://wordwall.net/resource/19250925 https://wordwall.net/resource/19964738 https://wordwall.net/resource/30949103 https://wordwall.net/resource/39323327 https://wordwall.net/resource/37550117 https://wordwall.net/resource/35981579 https://wordwall.net/resource/37982381 https://wordwall.net/resource/38305779 #learners #teachers #english #businessenglish #materials

💡 Our amazing stream with Aleksandra today focused on HR processes and job interview preparation. She shared her personal experience and valuable tips on recruiting. The conversation also touched on the recommendations for applicants on the CV, cover letter, preparations, behaviors, questions etc. Overall, the discussion aimed to encourage applicants to build confidence, be authentic, and understand current trends in HR recruiting practices. 🧐 ❓Curious about the ins and outs of job interviews? Watch the FULL VIDEO to discover: ✅What questions HR professionals typically ask candidates. Which questions are appropriate to ask an HR representative, and which ones to avoid. The best attire for your interview. Potential red flags that might cause recruiters to reject a candidate before the interview even begins. and MORE❗️ 🌟HIGHLIGHTS🌟 💼 Send a Cover Letter for Every Application: A cover letter helps provide context for your resume, explain how your skills relate to the position, and demonstrate motivation. 📝 Personalize Your Cover Letter: When using AI tools like ChatGPT, add details and human-like expressions to make your cover letter sound genuine rather than copy-pasted. ✍️ Explain Your Motivation: Clearly articulate why you are applying to a specific company, making a connection between your experience and the role. 📸 Use Appropriate Photos in CVs: A photo on your CV is a must-have. For high-level positions, use a professional shot; for lower positions, a simple selfie is acceptable. Avoid selfies with “duck” lips or bikinis.😳🙈 🎯 Tailor Your CV and Story: Reframe and focus your personal story to highlight skills and experiences relevant to the position, and be ready to improvise if asked questions. ⏳ Prepare in Advance for Interviews: Use the off-season, such as summer, to optimize your preparation for job interviews, aligning with peak hiring times. 🧳 Repack Your Personal Story: Be flexible and strategic in presenting your background, emphasizing qualities and skills that match employer expectations. 💡 Respect Yourself in Job Applications: Aim for long-term fit rather than quick approval; avoid trying to please everyone if it is not suitable for you. 🏆 Show Authenticity and Confidence: Use your own unique experiences during interviews to stand out instead of relying solely on rehearsed answers. You can use this as a podcast to improve your listening skills AND/OR gain some valuable insights and recommendations! If you have questions or generally something to add/to say - you’re more than welcome to leave comments. Yesterday was a great day! 📣 The SELF CONF 8 Mixing event took place offline in Moscow. I had the opportunity to present my work called «Confession of a seasoned manipulator». And now I would like to share my slides with you. ⚠️ Remember: manipulation itself is NOT inherently good or bad. Everything depends on the INTENT, PERSPECTIVE, PURPOSE, and TOOLS used. Some types of manipulation, such as gaslighting, are toxic and dangerous because they distort the victim's perception of reality, making them doubt their sanity, feel guilty, and so on. In our pedagogical discourse, we only focus on acceptable techniques that can help educators without harming students. You can find my presentation slides in this post. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment! 💬 #teachers #english #psychology #manipulation

These days, we’re so used to English business jargon that even our casual Russian conversations are sprinkled with it. KPI? Oh, everyone’s got that on lock. But then someone drops an “OKR” and you’re like, “Wait, are we talking about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder now?” Nope, not even close! 🙈 So here’s some info for you . ❗️OKR (Objectives and Key Results) is a goal-setting framework that helps organizations define and track their objectives and the key results that measure the achievement of those objectives. It focuses on setting ambitious, qualitative goals and quantifiable results to achieve them. ❗️KPI (Key Performance Indicators) are measurable values that demonstrate how effectively a company is achieving its key business objectives. KPIs are used to evaluate the success of an organization, team, or individual in meeting predefined targets. ⚠️ Differences between OKR and KPI: 📈 Scope: OKR is a framework for setting goals and tracking progress, while KPI is a metric used to measure performance. 🔍 Focus: OKR focuses on setting ambitious, qualitative goals and the key results needed to achieve them, whereas KPI focuses on measuring specific, quantifiable aspects of performance. 📅 Timeframe: OKR is typically set for a specific time period (e.g., quarterly or annually), while KPI can be measured over various time periods depending on the business need. 🎯 Ambition: OKR encourages setting aggressive, stretch goals, while KPI often focuses on meeting predefined targets. 📝 Documentation: OKR involves setting clear, written objectives and key results, whereas KPI may be more focused on tracking specific metrics without a comprehensive goal-setting framework. 👥 Alignment: OKR promotes alignment across the organization by linking individual and team objectives to overall company goals, while KPI may be more siloed and focused on specific departments or functions. ❓❓❓So, have you heard of them? Does your organization use those? Share in the comments. #learners #teachers #businessenglish

🔤🔤🔤🔤 🔤🔤🔤🔤🔤🔤🔤 Today Marina and I discussed the psychological barriers faced by individuals when learning a foreign language, emphasizing the importance of self-acceptance, understanding one's limitations, and seeking support when necessary. Overcoming these barriers involves a combination of psychological work, such as identifying deep-rooted fears or traumas, and practical strategies like engaging in conversations and social interactions. ❗️We believe that the role of teachers and psychologists is vital in helping learners confront and analyze their internal blocks. Additionally, the importance of maintaining motivation and adopting a positive mindset is key to progressing in language acquisition. HIGHLIGHTS 🎯 Recognizing and accepting one's psychological barriers is crucial for language learning progress. 🧠 Deep-seated issues, trauma, or perfectionism can significantly hinder speaking and learning abilities. 💬 Consulting with psychologists, teachers, or friends can help uncover the root causes of internal blocks. 🎤 Engaging in social activities like speaking clubs can aid in practical language use and boost confidence. 🧳 Understanding personal limitations, such as grammar gaps or fear of mistakes, helps tailor effective learning strategies. 🤝 Supportive interaction with teachers and peers fosters a safe space for overcoming speaking anxieties. 🚶‍♀️ Tracking and analyzing the origins of emotional blocks can improve self-awareness and motivation. 🌟 Emphasizing a non-judgmental approach and realistic expectations helps learners progress without undue stress. ⚠️⚠️⚠️ TEACHER! Always remember that you are the core of the supportive environment of your students, the one they trust and believe in. TEACHER! Be empathetic, attuned to your students' emotional states, and adapt this approach during lessons to reduce anxiety levels. TEACHER! If you're facing a particularly challenging case of language barrier, don't hesitate to consult more experienced colleagues from ELT communities. TEACHER! If you feel that you cannot address your student's psychological barriers or trauma, gently suggest seeking therapy. It's important to prioritize the student's well-being. For more detail you are welcome to watch the whole discussion or read the script below. ⚡️⚡️⚡️ If you have questions, want to share your problem/case and get some recommendations or generally have something to add/to say - you’re more than welcome to the comments section Here is the link to the script. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nAsdLUX7N_Sab47J2UVWcTDjGmiiFrD-/view?usp=sharing If you got interested/need a therapy session/a consultation, you can find Marina here: https://t.me/MY_supportive_teacher_talk #learners #teachers #liveexpert #russian

🌟Flowcharts for SPEAKING!🌟 Have you ever prepared your students to discuss a specific topic, only to find them sitting in silence when it's time for free practice?🙈 This can be frustrating, but there's a simple solution: flowcharts. Flowcharts are a great way to help students understand the direction of a conversation without limiting their language use too strictly. They provide a visual guide that encourages students to speak and participate in the dialogue. Here's how it works: 1️⃣Create a flowchart that outlines the main points of the conversation. 2️⃣Use arrows to show the possible directions the dialogue can take. 3️⃣Encourage students to follow the flowchart and add their own ideas and opinions, then switch roles. After practicing with the flowchart, students usually understand the logic of the dialogue expected from them and can continue the conversation on their own without any visual support. ⚠️ If you're a learner, you can also try practicing with a flowchart on your own or with ChatGPT. It's a great way to improve your speaking skills and build confidence in engaging in conversations. ❗️❗️❗️Here are a couple of flowcharts, some are with model answer exercisers (where you can listen and repeat).
