That means loving Him, praying, reading your Bible, and telling others about Jesus. Don’t allow school, games, and fun activities take all your attention. God wants you to think about Him and talk to Him every day. When you talk to Him, listen to His Word, and obey Him, you make Him happy. Joshua told God’s people to keep following the Lord, and not copy wrong things around them (Joshua 23:7–8). When they forgot God, they got into trouble. That teaches us always to choose God first. When you put God first, He helps you in everything you do. Hallelujah! (Refuse To Be Controlled By Your Emotions, Desires Or Impulses) TO THE BIBLE - 2 Peter 1:6 KJV “And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness.” LET’S TALK In our previous study, we learned about adding knowledge to our faith—becoming informed, enlightened, and effective in all we do. But knowledge alone isn’t enough; it must be balanced with something very vital—temperance! Think about a race. Every athlete trains their body to obey strict discipline. They practice restraint in diet, sleep, and lifestyle because they have a goal in mind—to win the prize. It’s the same with your spiritual journey. If you must win in life, you’ve got to learn to control yourself! Temperance means self-control—the ability to hold yourself in and not be ruled by your emotions, desires, or impulses. It’s learning to master you. Proverbs 25:28 (NIV) says, “Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control.” In ancient times, a city without walls was open to attack; anyone could invade. That’s what happens when someone lacks self-control—anger, lust, laziness, or bad habits can easily take over. A person who lacks self-control is like a city without walls—open to attack and easily defeated (Proverbs 25:28). In ancient times, city walls symbolized strength, safety, and discipline. Without them, anyone could walk in and take over. That’s how it is when someone doesn’t rule their spirit. They have no boundaries, no discipline, and no defense against temptation or error. You’ve got to have principles in your life. You’ve got to have self-control! Some people boast about their temper or their sharp tongue. They say, “If I talk to you, you’ll hate yourself!” and they’re even proud of it. But your mouth wasn’t given to you for tearing others down. God gave you your words to build your life, your future, and the lives of others. Use your tongue to bless, to edify, and to speak success and victory. That’s what self-control looks like—directing your words, emotions, and actions by the wisdom of the Spirit. When you master yourself, you become a vessel fit for the Master’s use. You become fruitful and productive in every good work because you’re consistent, disciplined, and guided by the Word. A life of self-control is a life that produces lasting results—a life that glorifies God and advances His Kingdom. Hallelujah! GO DEEPER Proverbs 16:32 NIV Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city. Proverbs 25:28 He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. SPEAK I’m a master of my thoughts, emotions, and actions! I refuse to be ruled by anger, laziness, or distractions. I have self-control and discipline through the Spirit of God. I’m focused, balanced, and strong in character. I respond with wisdom in every situation, and I always act according to the Word. I’m in charge, making steady progress every day. Hallelujah! RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME Dsc. Dsc. DD. SUNDAY MAY 03 2026 RESPOND RIGHTLY TO THE SPIRIT Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye? They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he… As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground (John 18:4-6). There’s such a thing as falling under the power of God. It’s real. But sometimes, that people fell under the power when hands were laid on them or when they were ministered to, doesn’t automatically mean they received something. Power can be present, power can flow, and people can respond physically to that power yet receive no meaningful spiritual impartation. You can tell by the results. For example, John 18:4-6 tells us what transpired on the night the Lord Jesus was arrested. He stood before the men who came for Him and asked, “Whom do you seek?” They answered, “Jesus of Nazareth.” And He said, “I am he.” The Bible says they staggered backwards and fell to the ground. They fell under the power. It was real power. But what did they receive? Nothing! They still arrested Him. The manifestation of power didn’t mean a spiritual deposit was received. Acts 9:3-7 shows us the example of Saul on the road to Damascus. A light shone from heaven, and a voice spoke, “...Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?” (Acts 9:4). Paul testified that on hearing that voice, he and his companions all fell to the earth. Yet only one heard the meaning of the words that the Lord spoke—Saul of Tarsus, who later was called Paul. The rest fell down, got up, and went into the city. There was power but they received nothing. Remember that the Holy Spirit is intelligent. He knows a person can be under His influence and still receive nothing. Therefore, you must learn to respond correctly to the Spirit, by faith and understanding, to receive His blessings and impartations. PRAYER / CONFESSION Dear Father, thank you for your Spirit who ministers to me and through me with wisdom and power. My heart is receptive, my spirit is attentive, and I receive divine deposits that produce lasting transformation as the Spirit ministers to me. My life bears lasting fruits, and I walk in the fullness of the blessings of Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. I’m yielded to the Spirit of perfection and excellence that’s at work in me. Therefore, my words, thoughts, and actions are detailed and flawless. I think, talk, and exude excellence, to the glory and praise of Your matchless Name. Hallelujah! Our God is great, and greatly to be praised. He had set Eternity in my heart, and there’s no end to the awesomeness of His Majesty. As I keep learning His Word, His glory is revealed in my life; I’m constantly transfigured and renewed more and more in knowledge into His image. I walk in the truths of God’s Word, getting acquainted with my inheritance in Christ and enjoying all of these numerous, multifaceted blessings. I live in the fulfilment and reality of God’s blessings; I’ve been brought into God’s rest. All things are mine. I take full advantage of all that’s available to me in Christ, and by my faith, I triumph gloriously in every place. Thank You for Your power that’s at work in me. I’ve become the brightness and expression of Your perfect glory, daily showing forth Your virtues and perfections. #KeepSayingIt #3800 Saturday, 2nd May 2026 My life is the expression of all that Christ is. His divine life is manifested through me. I live in the consciousness of my divine life and origin in Christ, knowing that the life I live is superior to sickness, disease, and defeat. The life of God in me has supplanted the human life that was susceptible to sickness and disease. I am identified with the Lord and branded by Him. I am a different kind of being, one that doesn’t fail, suffer, perish, or get ill. My life is fashioned by God for excellence. I am a partaker of God’s glory, grace, and righteousness. I have power over all the abilities and strategies of the devil. No matter how he tries or through which means he attempts to attack my body, the Name of Jesus gives me authority, dominion, and triumph always. I’m strengthened and energized by the Holy Spirit who lives in me, and He’s made me an absolute victor. The power of the Holy Spirit touches everything in my body; thus, I am infused with divine strength. There is no situation I cannot change, for the inherent power to do exceeding abundantly above all that I could ask, think, or imagine is within me. I am a partaker of God’s divine nature, and I walk in abundant grace and divine favour. I am preserved from the machinations of wicked and unreasonable men. I have peace on every side. I completely reject anything that hurts or binds. I live above the decadence and flawed systems of this world. God’s wisdom is operative in me. This wisdom beautifies my life and causes me to inherit substance. The angels of wealth attend to me. The angel of money responds to me. The grace of God is working in me mightily and evidently. I experience a quantum leap in grace. I walk in exponential grace, and I take advantage of the grace of God. I’ve been graced to reign in this life through righteousness. I make decrees, and they’re established because I function in and with the authority of Christ. I refuse sickness, failure, defeat, and death. I reject anything that’s not of God, and I endorse only that which is consistent with His perfect will for me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

The name of Jesus gives me authority, victory, and dominion always. The Holy Spirit lives in me and makes me strong. He fills my body with divine strength. Because God’s power is in me, there is no problem I cannot overcome. I am a partaker of God’s divine nature. I walk in God’s grace and favour every day. God protects me and keeps me safe. I have peace all around me. God’s wisdom works in me and makes my life beautiful. It helps me make the right decisions. God blesses the work of my hands and gives me success in Jesus’ name. Amen.

PROSPERITY CONVICTIONS I affirm that excellence, glory, virtue and success are the hallmarks of my life because the grace of God is superabundant in and upon me. I am fruitful and productive and I live a life of peace and unlimited prosperity in Christ Jesus. The Lord is the portion of my inheritance; He maintains my lot. Grace and favour surprise me with good things and the Spirit of God causes the right people to  gravitate towards me.  I am like a tree by the streams, bearing fruits unto righteousness, because I live by the Word. He boldly said, “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.” Even when he faced tough times, Paul kept sharing the Good News because he knew it had the power to change lives. As God’s child, you can be brave too. You don’t need big or complicated words. Just share what you know—how Jesus loves you, helps you, and gives you peace. Never let anyone make you feel shy or embarrassed about talking about Jesus. Be proud of who you are in Christ. Like Paul, be brave and tell others about Jesus with joy!
