One useful way to prepare for the English exam is to practise reading comprehension under time pressure. Don't just read a passage and look at the answers—train yourself to find exactly where the answer comes from.
📘 Here's how to practise:
🔹 Read the questions first. This helps you know what information to look for when reading the passage.
🔹 Look for meaning, not just matching words. The correct answer may express the same idea using different words from the passage.
🔹 Be careful with extreme statements. Words such as always, never, all, and only can make an option incorrect if the passage doesn't support such a strong claim.
🔹 Don't use your personal knowledge to answer. Choose what the passage supports, even if you know something different from outside reading.
🔥 The most important tip: Never choose an answer just because it contains a word you saw in the passage. Read the whole option and check whether its meaning matches the text.
Your goal isn't just to understand English it's to understand exactly what the question is asking.

One important thing to practise before your Cabin Crew written exam is understanding how a word functions inside a sentence. Knowing the meaning of a word is not always enough; you must know how it is used.
📘 Try this example:
The passengers were ___ informed about the delay.
A) clear
B) clearly
C) clarity
D) clearing
✅ Correct answer: B) clearly
Why? Informed is a verb form here, and clearly is an adverb describing how the passengers were informed.
🔥 Here’s the real tip: When practising English questions, don't study vocabulary alone. Pay attention to the words before and after the blank. They often reveal whether the missing word should be a noun, verb, adjective, or adverb.
For example, after a/an/the, you may need a noun or an adjective followed by a noun. Before a noun, an adjective may be needed. When describing an action, an adverb may fit.
Don't just ask, Which word do I know? Ask, Which type of word does this sentence need?
That small habit can help you solve unfamiliar grammar questions instead of relying on memorised answers.

Every time you miss a question in mathematics, physics, English, or mechanical reasoning, write down three things:
🔹 The mistake: What did you get wrong?
🔹 The reason: Did you misunderstand the question, forget a formula, confuse a unit, or make a calculation error?
🔹 The correction: Write the right method in your own words, then solve the question again without looking at the answer.

Under normal conditions, the landing gear is extended using the aircraft’s hydraulic or electrically controlled systems. But what happens if something goes wrong?
⬇️ Gravity Extension: The crew activates an alternate mechanism that releases the landing gear uplocks, allowing the gear to extend under gravity and aerodynamic forces, depending on the aircraft design.
⚙️ Manual Extension: Some aircraft use dedicated mechanical controls, such as cables, levers or cranks, to release or operate parts of the landing gear mechanism.
✅ Once extended, mechanical downlocks help secure the landing gear in position for landing.

Example: If a calculation uses 20 kg, try it with 35 kg. This tests whether you understand the formula or simply memorized the answer.

Take an English grammar question. Change the subject, tense, or sentence structure while keeping the same grammar rule. Can you still choose the correct answer?
