Whilst I DISAVOW all forms of politically motivated violence, this is just bad messaging. Helen Haines herself did not agree that “Australians can disagree but must never accept violence or threats”. She openly supported hate-speech legislation and the broadening of symbol bans so that the state could use threats and terror against those she did not agree with.
