قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله: Shaykh Sulayman Ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: في الحديث: (خيرُ الدعاءِ دعاءُ يومِ عرفة) • In the ḥadīth: “The best supplication is the supplication on the Day of ʿArafah.” والتحقيق أن هذه الخيرية تعم جميع المؤمنين من الحجاج وغيرهم، • And upon closer examination, this excellence encompasses all the believers—both the pilgrims and others. والحجاج أعظم نصيبًا منها، • And the pilgrims have the greatest share of it. فإن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم علق الخيرية بيوم عرفة، • For the Prophet ﷺ attached the excellence to the Day of ʿArafah, وهو حاصل لجميع المؤمنين، • And that is something available to all the believers. فليجتهد الحجاج وغيرهم في الدعاء لأنفسهم، • So let the pilgrims and others strive in supplicating for themselves, ولأهليهم، • And for their families, ولأقاربهم، • And for their relatives, ولأحبابهم، • And for their loved ones, ولعلمائهم، • And for their scholars, وحُكّامهم. • And for their rulers. https://t.me/PearlsofRuhayli

قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله: Shaykh Sulayman Ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: في الحديث: (خيرُ الدعاءِ دعاءُ يومِ عرفة، وخيرُ ما قلتُ أنا والنبيُّون من قبلي: لا إلهَ إلا اللهُ وحده لا شريكَ له، له الملكُ وله الحمدُ، وهو على كلِّ شيءٍ قديرٌ). • In the ḥadīth: “The best supplication is the supplication on the Day of ʿArafah, and the best of what I and the Prophets before me have said is: Lā ilāha illa Allāh, waḥdahu lā sharīka lah, lahu’l-mulku wa lahu’l-ḥamdu, wa huwa ʿalā kulli shay’in qadīr (لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ) [There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, with no partner; to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is over all things capable].” فهذه لحظاتُ خيرِ الدعاءِ مع التوحيد. • So these are moments of the best supplication combined with Tawḥīd (pure monotheism). فهنيئاً لمن اغتنمَ نفيسَ الوقتِ في الدعاءِ بأنفسِ الأمور، مخلصاً لله وحده، • So glad tidings to the one who seizes this precious time in supplicating for the most important matters, sincerely for Allah alone, ودعا لإخوانهِ بالغيب، • And who supplicates for his brothers in their absence, ودعا لولاةِ الأمورِ بالخير. • And who supplicates for the leaders with goodness. https://t.me/PearlsofRuhayli

قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله: Shaykh Sulayman Ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: خيرُ الدعاءِ دعاءُ يومِ عرفة، • The best supplication is the supplication of the Day of ʿArafah. وأعظمُ وقتٍ لهذا الدعاءِ من الزوالِ إلى غروبِ الشمس، • And the greatest time for this supplication is from noon (after zawāl) until sunset, فإنه الوقتُ الذي حرصَ النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم على الدعاءِ فيه كلِّه، • For it is the time in which the Prophet ﷺ was keen to spend all of it in supplication. ويعظمُ الرجاءُ من العصرِ إلى المغرب، • And the hope (for acceptance) is even greater from ʿAṣr to Maghrib, حيثُ يدنو ربُّنا، يُباهي أهلَ السماءِ بأهلِ الأرض، • When our Lord draws near and boasts to the inhabitants of the heavens about the people of the earth, وتكونُ مغفرةُ الذنوب، • And the forgiveness of sins takes place. فلا تكن فيه من الغافلين. • So do not be among the heedless during it. https://t.me/PearlsofRuhayli

قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله: Shaykh Sulayman Ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: أذكر نفسي وإخواني وأخواتي ونحن في أيام العشر، • I remind myself and my brothers and sisters, while we are in the ten days, ومقبلون على يوم عرفة، • And approaching the Day of ʿArafah, ومنا من هو مقبل على الحج، • And among us are those about to perform Ḥajj, ومنا من يريد أن يضحي، • And among us are those intending to offer the sacrifice, وكل واحد منا يرجو أن يفوز بمغفرة الله، • And every one of us hopes to attain the forgiveness of Allah, أذكر الجميع بالتوبة النصوح، • So I remind everyone of sincere repentance, وكلٌ منا أعلم بذنوبه من جميع الناس، • And each of us knows his own sins better than all others, والله لا تخفى عليه خافية، • And nothing is hidden from Allah, كما أذكر الجميع بمحاسبة النفس ومراجعتها، • And I remind everyone to take account of their souls and review them, في كل شيء: في القلب وأعماله وما فيه، وأعمال الجوارح، والأقوال، • In all things: in the heart, its actions and what it contains; in the actions of the limbs; and in speech, لتنقية كل ذلك من الشوائب، والوصول به إلى الإحسان، • To purify all of that from impurities, and to elevate it to the level of iḥsān (excellence), ومن داوم على ذلك قوي إيمانه وعظم شأنه. • And whoever remains constant upon that, his faith becomes strong and his status becomes great. https://t.me/PearlsofRuhayli

وقال الشافعي رحمه الله في الأم: • Imām al-Shāfiʿī—may Allah have mercy on him—said in al-Umm: “وإن زاد فقال: الله أكبر كبيرًا، والحمد لله كثيرًا، وسبحان الله بكرةً وأصيلًا، الله أكبر، ولا نعبد إلا الله مخلصين له الدين، ولو كره الكافرون. لا إله إلا الله وحده، صدق وعده، ونصر عبده، وهزم الأحزاب وحده، لا إله إلا الله، والله أكبر، فحسن.” • “And if he adds and says: Allāhu akbar kabīrā, wal-ḥamdu lillāhi kathīrā, wa subḥānallāhi bukratan wa aṣīlā; Allāhu akbar, and we worship none but Allah, being sincere to Him in religion even if the disbelievers detest it; Lā ilāha illa Allāh alone, He fulfilled His promise, supported His servant, and defeated the confederates alone; Lā ilāha illa Allāh, and Allāhu akbar – then that is good.” وقال ابن حبيب رحمه الله: • Ibn Ḥabīb—may Allah have mercy on him—said: “وأحب إليّ من التكبير: الله أكبر، الله أكبر، لا إله إلا الله، والله أكبر، ولله الحمد على ما هدانا، اللهم اجعلنا لك من الشاكرين.” • “What I prefer among the forms of takbīr is: Allāhu akbar, Allāhu akbar, lā ilāha illa Allāh, wa Allāhu akbar, wa lillāhil-ḥamd ʿalā mā hadānā. قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله: Shaykh Sulayman ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: الأمر واسع في صيغ التكبير، فبأي صيغة كبَّر المسلم، ولو أن يكرر “الله أكبر”، حصل المقصود، • The matter is broad concerning the forms of takbīr, so whatever form a Muslim uses—even if he simply repeats “Allāhu akbar”—the objective is achieved. قال ابن القاسم رحمه الله: (وما كان مالك يحدّ في هذه الأشياء حدًّا)، • Ibn al-Qāsim—may Allah have mercy on him—said: “And Mālik would not set a fixed form in such matters.” وقال الإمام أحمد رحمه الله: “هو واسع” • And Imām Aḥmad—may Allah have mercy on him—said: “It is broad (i.e., flexible).” والأفضل الصيغ الواردة عن السلف، وأفضلها على التحقيق: • However, the best forms are those authentically reported from the Salaf, and the best of them with verification is: (اللهُ أكبرُ اللهُ أكبرُ، لا إلهَ إلَّا الله، واللهُ أكبرُ اللهُ أكبرُ، ولله الحمد) • Allāhu akbar, Allāhu akbar, lā ilāha illa Allāh; Allāhu akbar, Allāhu akbar, wa lillāhil-ḥamd رواه ابن أبي شيبة في المصنف عن شريك، قال: قلت لأبي إسحاق: كيف كان يُكبر عليّ وعبد الله بن مسعود؟ فذكر الأثر. • Reported by Ibn Abī Shaybah in al-Muṣannaf, from Sharīk, who said: I said to Abū Isḥāq, “How did ʿAlī and ʿAbdullāh ibn Masʿūd say the takbīr?” So he mentioned the narration. أو: (اللهُ أكبرُ اللهُ أكبرُ اللهُ أكبرُ، لا إلهَ إلَّا الله، واللهُ أكبرُ اللهُ أكبرُ، ولله الحمد) • Allāhu akbar, Allāhu akbar, Allāhu akbar; lā ilāha illa Allāh; Allāhu akbar, Allāhu akbar, wa lillāhil-ḥamd رواه ابن أبي شيبة في المصنف، والطبراني عن عبد الله بن مسعود رضي الله عنه. • Reported by Ibn Abī Shaybah in al-Muṣannaf and al-Ṭabarānī from ʿAbdullāh ibn Masʿūd, may Allah be pleased with him. ومما ثبت عن السلف: • And among what has been authentically reported from the Salaf is: (اللهُ أكبرُ اللهُ أكبرُ اللهُ أكبرُ كبيرًا) • Allāhu akbar, Allāhu akbar, Allāhu akbar kabīrā أخرجه البيهقي في فضائل الأوقات (227) عن سلمان رضي الله عنه. • Reported by al-Bayhaqī in Faḍāʾil al-Awqāt (no. 227) from Salmān, may Allah be pleased with him. (“الله أكبر، الله أكبر، الله أكبر، ولله الحمد، الله أكبر وأجل، الله أكبر على ما هدانا”) • Allāhu akbar, Allāhu akbar, Allāhu akbar, wa lillāhil-ḥamd; Allāhu akbar wa ajall; Allāhu akbar ʿalā mā hadānā رواه البيهقي عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما. • Reported by al-Bayhaqī from Ibn ʿAbbās, may Allah be pleased with them both. قال الشيخ سليمان الرحيلي حفظه الله: Shaykh Sulayman ar-Ruhayli, may Allah preserve him, said: دخلت العشر، والعمل فيهن أحب وأعظم وأزكى عند الله، • The ten [days] have entered, and deeds done during them are more beloved, greater, and purer with Allah. فاحرص على إكمال الفرائض وإتمامها، • So be keen on completing the obligatory acts and perfecting them. واحرص على الإكثار من السنن والنوافل، • And be keen on increasing in the Sunnah and supererogatory acts. واحرص على كل عمل صالح تقدر عليه في هذه العشر، • And be keen on every righteous deed you are able to do during these ten days. وزد حرصاً على الإكثار من ذكر الله، • And be even more eager to increase in the remembrance of Allah. وأكثر من قراءة القرآن والتسبيح والتحميد والتهليل والتكبير، • And increase in reciting the Qur’an, saying Subḥānallāh, Al-ḥamdu lillāh, Lā ilāha illa Allāh, and Allāhu akbar. واجهر أيها الرجل بالتكبير، • And raise your voice, O man, with the takbīr. واحرص على الأذكار المربوطة بأسبابها، • And be keen on the adhkār connected to their occasions, كإجابة المؤذن، • Like responding to the call of the mu’adhdhin, والصلاة على النبي ﷺ عند الفراغ من الأذان، • And sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ after the adhan ends, وقول: “اللهم رب هذه الدعوة التامة والصلاة القائمة، آت محمداً الوسيلة والفضيلة، وابعثه المقام المحمود الذي وعدته.” • And saying: “O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and the established prayer, grant Muḥammad the wasīlah and the virtue, and raise him to the praised station You have promised him.” احرص على اغتنام العشر المباركات بما تستطيع من الأعمال والأقوال التي يحبها الله ويرضاها. • Be keen on seizing the blessed ten [days] with whatever deeds and words you are able to do—those which Allah loves and is pleased with. https://t.me/PearlsofRuhayli
