Ethics: Case study PYQ theme-wise Along with some of my friends we had analysed important themes of case study and picked up some important points from topper copies (and own) etc on all major themes. Examples 1. If case study is on Rights, I would try to use Mill's Harm principal 2. If case study on old age then maybe use Switzerland's concept of Time bank 3. If case study on private business organisation then Google's X labs as best practice to promote creativity 4. If environmental case study then use of SC's MC Mehta case, EIA etc 5. If women related case study then using A51A (Fundamental duty), Beijing declaration, Vishakha guidelines. (Shruti Mam's Copy) Some of it is my creativity, rest is just smart picking. Hope it helps? Accha laga toh do share, react etc. For more such documents check pinned post of and join the group: https://t.me/upscandbeyondd

There’s a strange kind of pain nobody talks about in mentorship/teaching The pain of losing a student. He was one of my favourite students from my first ever mentorship batch. And when he failed prelims … I cried. Yes, cried. A lot. Because I know how he struggled with job yet did all necessary hard-work! Because sometimes, as a mentor, you don’t just see marks and attempts. You see the person. You know their fears, potential. You carry a little piece of their dream too. Then life happened. He left preparation. Fast forward one year. He came back to prep, and I thought we’d pick up where we left off, initially we did. I was recently thinking his plan needed restructuring, so I reached out. (He hadn’t official enrolled with me, yet, but i still had started making plan) And then he told me. He had already joined XYZ+ 2027. And ____ PSIR test series. All without telling me. That stung. Not because he joined other courses. Let me be very clear, I have zero issue with that. In fact, had we discussed it, I would most likely still have recommended XYZ. Just… probably not right now. Because knowing his journey, I feel his basics need strengthening first. That’s the kind of tweak personal mentorship and knowing someone really well brings. Personal calibration. So naturally, ugly thoughts entered. Does he doubt my capability as a mentor? Did he feel he had extracted the best I had to offer and now I’m no longer useful in his UPSC? Or did something happen that he never communicated? Maybe I was too busy. Maybe I replied late. Maybe he felt unheard. I genuinely don’t know. I just hope that if I ever failed him in any way, he tells me. Honestly. Because contrary to popular belief, mentors are human too. We overthink. We question ourselves. We replay conversations at 2 AM like emotionally unstable detectives. Personally? It felt like heartbreak. Professionally? It lit a fire. I want to answer not with not with defensive explanations. But with results. Last year, I had strong final results. This prelims, my courses performed exceptionally well. especially current affairs. The hit rate was honestly something I’m proud of. And every student I lose or does not enrol makes me want to give so many hits in exams that it simple becomes common sense to follow me! And I am ready to work 12 hours a day for it! Now yes, reality is reality. I may never become as big as giant coachings. Take Xyz, for example. 100 Cr investment received. Come on i can never have that level of marketing and PR budget! I’m tiny in comparison. Small team. Limited resources. No fancy empire. Pretty insignificant on paper. But numbers can tell different stories depending on how you read them. Big institutes may have 5000 mains-writing students and claim 250 selections. That’s a 5% conversion. Last year? I had 13 rankers in mentorship from roughly 40. And 60+ rankers from my other courses combined with hardly 300 mains giving aspirants. You do the math. And still…Self-doubt whispers. “What if you’re not actually that good, last year was luck?” (Just like we doubt ourselves in UPSC prep, lol back to good old days) Fair question. Time will tell. I am everyday trying to become worthy of the trust students place in me. As for him, I genuinely wish him the very best. Yes, I’m surprised Because I know his journey deeply, and I truly believe I could have improved his plan. But part of being professional is accepting a difficult truth: Sometimes people move ahead without needing you. Or without thinking they need you. And that’s okay. And if he clears, this time? I will still be one of the happiest people on earth. He was the first student whose result made me cry! And maybe that’s the curse and privilege of caring deeply. You don’t stop rooting for people, even after they stop walking with you. (I know no teacher or Mentor would share something like this, but come on this channel is my family, we had started with 100 people in it, i use to post everything raw, and now 48k channel too deserves truth!) -AJJU!
